I imagine the union assumes that we are all adults and are all aware that there will be furloughs. It’s pretty obvious listening to their communications, I haven’t heard them ever say there would be no furloughs so to say they are not being honest with the pilots is not true in my opinion. They aren’t going to throw numbers out there without a hard number from the company. The company clearly knows there will be furloughs but just as clearly has no idea how to move forward as evidenced by their multiple bids and cancellations.

Bottom 8% get looking, 8-12.5% there is a 90% chance you will not have a job, come October 1st. 12-15%, you are on hot alert. That is honestly, that is transparency. They have known it for more then 75 days.

You all are an embarrassment. If you want to be treated like professionals, start acting like professionals.

This, I honestly get embarrassed for my pilot group every time I get on here. OTZ is but hurt over not being elected or bumped out at the doing of the SFO LEC and LAX LEC, and New Guy gives all ex VXers a bad name. I’m glad a majority of my fellow Alaska pilots are more level headed and respectful that’s these two clowns. Thanks for being more transparent OTZ, I’m glad you are finally clear in your intentions

I am against all the fighting, anger, hate, and caustic behavior. I hate whining and childish behavior, deprived of any intellect and substance. I believe people are capable of processing the truth, even when it is fluid. I believe in true transparency and am against elitism. today is first time to go from 12.5% to 8% although 90% chance based on what ? mitigation? Industry in our segment are all saying possible 100% mitigation yet AS is hard on 12.5% to 8%? seems rather unremarkable for an airline that claims the power to do the right thing

I never totally understood this thought process: So when the ball is in our court, it’s “burn the place down until we get Delta plus 3%.” When the company has the ball, it’s “We are a family, keep everyone employed even though that costs you an extra120 million a year.” It’s a business guys, it’s about profits, shareholder equity, and in the process hopefully it provides you a descent living.
