It has been my experience that some people should never buy things at auctions or perhaps not even attend auctions. They get caught up in a bidding war and pay an unreasonable price for something that - after the purchase - they really don’t know what to do with...

If it happens it will be Virgin America rinse and repeat.... 717 and 321(ours and theirs) gone by 2025. 330’s gone by 2027...We adopt their 330 payscale for all fleets and fence everything until fleets are gone(exception being the 321)...Go down very near date of hire...Everything but west coast goes to code share/alliance. Interisland is a small flock of old QX turbo props...
What say you OTZ?
What say you OTZ?
Quite peculiarly, we're keeping the 321's until 2025, which can easily be a fleet alignment with HA's 321.
Then management reversed course the q400, deciding to keep them much longer than anticipated, those would make fine inter-airline flying, wouldn't you say?
I think everyone is at consensus at this point, that Alaska needs to grow and grow quickly, the plague did make the smaller airlines more aggressive...well all but one.
If this fable buyout were to happen I can see how things happening now can be in play in the future.
thanks for the dance O'

This is just the usual thread derailment from the usual suspects. There's a reason that the Alaska forum on here is the least informative and least trafficked section on APC.

Whoever we buy, we owe years of free beer to them for the quality of life destruction they will endure here.

I agree with everything you said. But let me dance this dance with Mr OTZ. Mr OTZ....would you offer me this last dance?

Alaska Airlines Established April 14th, 1932
Hawaiian Airlines established January 30th, 1929
I’m guessing the Alaska pilots won’t be making the length of time the respective airlines have been in business a central point of any prospective SLI negotiation this time around!

Career Expectation
Longevity
Status Category
For VX and AS, two were similar except the one with a vast difference: longevity. For HAL and AS, two are similar except the one with a vast difference: career expectation (widebodies). HAL pilots would do good in a binding SLI scenario with AS.
