Attrition has never registered at Angle Lake. There is a ready supply of West Coasters ready to show up for class. Training failures are almost non-existant. There is no strategy that involves attrition or quality of hire or difficulty of hiring that will ever effect negotiations. It is worrisome that that tactic is creeping into negotiations. It is also worrisome that we are taking it to the public as a strategy. The news cycle/traveling public has an attention span of a gnat…We are in the 24-36 month cycle at this point…..Long Haulin
I’ve been thinking the video is most likely being used as our Union to raise awareness among the clueless in our ranks.

So you think the clueless actually care about what effects our contract has on those that are junior? That’s rich, those that are senior have zero cares in the world to anyone junior to them.

Oh wait, that's the AA senior guys, lol.
(but I'm guessing you guys have that same sort of cadre of blissfully unaware senior pilots)

I thought the video was great, clearly articulates why this place is such a steaming pile of garbage. This place is terrible. Literally the worst. No future, and no hope. We will never get a good contract. We are like atlas minus the arbitration… we will fight and fight and fight but one day when we finally get a contract it will be pretty similar to our current contract with maybe a couple of very very minor improvements. The company has no reason to bend to us, nor will they.

Likely it is…Or I hope it is. I have 2 classmates that left 20 years ago for the same reasons. It would be nice if the Communications chairman went back in time and started a series of these videos every couple of weeks up through the years. I think it would help highlight just how embedded in the corporate structure the attitudes coming at us from the current management herd are. The change we seek may be unattainable in a single contractual cycle given the relatively stable performance that Flight Operations produce on a daily basis. The unity within the unified ranks is solid no doubt but there are too many of “Santa’s Little Helpers” out there, every day in every base, carrying the water for “the company”…..

"I left Alaska X years ago, worst decision I've ever made" = Probably something you'll never hear.

I was jumpseating on United about a year ago, Captain asked me "how's the merger going". My answer, "Probably better than most". His response, " I left that company 20 years ago, best decision I've ever made".

A few years ago, we had a UAL jump seater who was one of them. He said that he regretted his decision to leave, at the time, when he was furloughed but looking back now, it was the best career decision that he has made.

Does anyone know why the current vacation report doesn't work? How are we supposed to know who has what days if we are looking to do P2P trades? The original award list only shows the original award, but many pilots have since changed it by swapping with open time. Is this some glitch they are trying to fix or have they intentionally turned off this feature?
