And yeah, I'm sure a lot of your own coworkers wish they had that A plan too. Instead, we get the company using the "cost" of providing a benefit to a few pilots as a reason to keep wages low for the rest (arbitration hearings, page 606, line 15).
“A little effort”, are words you cleverly use to mask what they are really doing, to fit your agenda. They are most certainly on the hustle, I have friends over at LUV, I like their work rules, but if you a CA over there making 500k your hustling, if your an FO over there making 300k, your hustling, period!

A powerful lesson is being missed:

SWA FOs are regularly pulling down big numbers because they have the work rules to make that happen when asked to fly extra. Which sounds like it happened a lot last year.

We need these kinds of work rules at AS.

News flash. Hustling for a senior FO at SWA is putting up 350-400K. I have plenty of friends that do. Their schedules look miserable, but bully for them. Mid 200s is pretty standard for a mid level to fairly senior FO. That’s where I sit and never work more than 14 days a month. Take a gander at the W2 thread, it may open your eyes.

Most of those threads are what they “really made” plus a little extra to make themselves feel good, a touch more for you to think they are awesome, and 401k on top. Yes, the double time JA is awesome, I want that. Last year was very good in that respect to many over there. Most of my friends were over it though. They were worn out of being forced to work, being forced to be gone.
Here is a good example of how these go
I made
494,XXX
8,550 - max 401k for an option A guy
6,100 - ER PISP
29,200- for my bonus conveniently forgetting it will be included in my 2022 gross
75,000- for my A-plan because it has to have a value and I have to show I am awesome.

So yes I will publish $612,850 add 5 percent because I have to do better then those Captains at DAL $$$643,492.50$$$$
and then guess what, well then I fabricate a story about how I only blocked 370 hours, why? Well because I am awesome of course. 🙄🙄🙄. Yup, I am fully checked out on those threads. If oil stays at 100$ we are going to look back on those threads and be pretty embarrassed.

Eyes wide open dude….

Constantly speaking about yourself and not what your FO’s are trying to voice as far as their compensation in relation to their peers. You actually brought up your A fund earlier, unbelievable. Eyes wide shut.

I too chose option 1… So we are never to talk about it…The A plan that costs less than the 401K plan. No question OTZ is tone deaf a little a lot but none of us that chose option 1 have any idea what the A plan is worth or will continue to be worth in retirement. And unlike your 401K, we have no say and will never have any say in our retirement.

I'd say you should work on your reading comprehension, but looks like I'm late to the party. I never said what you implied I said.

Our works rules reward flexibility and a little effort. pretty simple.

You’ll get used to him. He’s like one of those awkward morbidly obese guys with a cell phone holster, sitting on the lazy boys at Atlantic.

How can this be true and so easy if this is posted in the SWA forum 🤔🤔🤔🙄

There were certain draws here several years ago that made up for some shortcomings but navigating this COVID crisis has shown that this company is NOT the company many of us thought it was.

Thoughts?

Four of my closest friends are SWA 12 year CA’s… one DAL, two PHX, and one OAK. EXCLUDING 401k, they all made 370-400 as CA’s… they all worked less then I did, had more days off but made 370-400 as 12 year CA’s. If it’s that easy to make 400k at SWA as a 3rd year FO, the above thread would not exist. If it’s that easy to make that money over there as a FO, every FO at AS should run there….. I am not eyes wide shut, not listening, if it’s true I am doing them a favor by telling them to leave.

I want better work rules, expect I will get them soon, I am just tired of idiots blowing smoke!
