I’m sure the merger will happen it’s just a matter of how soon and we will see it on the news.

And for those of us who saved and invested, and are now retired? We are wealth. We know what we do with our money. My investments most always outperform the stock indexes, year after year.

Ohhh look a wealthy person!

If you’re “wealth” are you changing your entire existence because the tax code changes?

No, I do not change my ENTIRE existence…

I do work to minimize my taxes, consistent with high rate of return. I take moderate short term risks (like investing in a diversified portfolio of stocks rather than sticking my cash under the bed), for long term gains.

I highly recommend the book that came out a number of years ago, “The Millionaire Next Door.”

Those hoping for a SWA merger, Southwest’s most recent bid junior CA DOH March 2011. I believe that was OAK? Who knows what PHX, Florida, or anywhere else more senior went. Throw in SWAPA vs ALPA, a relatively young pilot group thanks to AirTran, and this is one integration I really wouldn’t look forward to.

That's all up the arbitrator. There might be some pain for mid level seniority AS people, but the overall QOL improvements would offset the loss of seniority.

Weighing the pros vs. cons, I'm still in favor.
