Four of my closest friends are SWA 12 year CA’s… one DAL, two PHX, and one OAK. EXCLUDING 401k, they all made 370-400 as CA’s… they all worked less then I did, had more days off but made 370-400 as 12 year CA’s. If it’s that easy to make 400k at SWA as a 3rd year FO, the above thread would not exist. If it’s that easy to make that money over there as a FO, every FO at AS should run there….. I am not eyes wide shut, not listening, if it’s true I am doing them a favor by telling them to leave.

I want better work rules, expect I will get them soon, I am just tired of idiots blowing smoke!
Again, with the reading comprehension!
A senior FO is not a 3rd year FO.
"His schedule looks miserable" gets translated in your post to "if it's that easy to make 400k as a 3rd year FO..."

I hope you slow down when you're reading checklists.

Smoke…. Some make 250-350…. But they are doing more then just a little effort. Sorry, you can’t have your cake and eat it too. If you making “well over” 300k at SWA as a FO, you are hustling….not just “putting in a little effort.”

Why would this thread exist if that statement were true🤔

Thoughts?
I guarantee my 4 buddies that are 12 year CAs at SWA, would describe themselves as flying their lines and “putting in a little extra effort” and they are making 370-400 as 12 year CAs

OK lets do some math. A topped out FO is making $171/trip. To make $300k they need to do 1754 tfp in a year or 146/month. That's picking up 1 extra 3 day at premium per month, which is easy these days. To make $400k as a captain (245/tfp) they need to average 136 tfp/month. Those are JV numbers and barely breaking a sweat. To make 370 they basically just fly their line and let the work rules take care of the rest, with premium added on regularly.

And remember, we're talking about FO's who are intentionally bypassing. The senior guys at the top of the FO pay scale. Not 3rd year FOs.

I love SWA airlines, I love their work rules. I want better work rules, better flexibility. I am not just going to make up -hit, to make up -hit though.
I just talked to a buddy over there 118-138 trips a month 16-18 days off a month depending. He made 392 last year. I told him to check out this thread… and that FO’s at SWA are barely cracking a book and making 400k a year. He said most of the FOs in PHX are disgruntled and looking for jobs elsewhere….. He doesn’t know any FO making 400, even with an awful schedule. I am sure he is just a liar and doesn’t know what he is talking about… 19 year CA at SWA🤔

I missed where anyone said many SWA FO's are making 400k. There are a few but definite outliers. You do like to embellish what's been said tho...so who knows what part of what you say is true about your SWA buddies.

If the merger goes through you’ll be flying with these clowns. So you have that to look forward to.
