Oh relax… That’s not what I said. I said our union proposal has us at a minimum of 352 in 4/1/2024.

I heard the company is going to offer 305 and 3% cola… we still suck at 266

Actually having LCR isn't a huge deal. I've had it at three airlines, and it's only available to a small handful of people. So not any kind of game changer for reserves in general.

Not a big deal at all? So minor, Delta starts out all its reserves as LCR.

That's a bigger deal. If you can negotiate it. But for most airlines that's not how it works. Also... if you're convertible, and their only source of SCR is LCR conversions, that very quickly degrades the utility of LCR. Getting converted every week defeats the purpose.

AA's "get there when you can" callout policy for SCR is a little bit like LCR, assuming you're within driving distance and not in another state.

From: 18%er but I’ll enforce UPA23 to the last period.

It’s amazing you know that considering UAL pilots don’t even have the actual rates yet. Further, the rumored rates you are seeing are also accompanied by an increase in the retirement contribution from the company and free medical (also both rumored but if you’re going to compare rumors let’s use the whole rumor). Pay rates are one aspect of the whole. If the free medical is true that’s a de facto pay raise on top of the rates.

UAL starts everyone as LCR too, can only convert you a certain number of times per month, and have to pay you extra for doing it. Unless I'm mistaken.

Reduced (or zero) SCR improves QOL.

Starting as LCR and getting constantly converted anyway does not. As always, the devil is in the details.

I don't ever recall getting converted and thinking "Yah! I'm getting paid more!". Each to his own.

As far as this bid goes it seems very discouraging for new hires: For the near future there appears to be little to no growth. The only hiring is to cover the unprecedented attrition, which is arguably a symptom of how the pilot group is currently being treated. If senior FOs decide to upgrade the 4-5 year upgrade will be a thing of the past. Since the number of new captains will really only be 4 for the next year. If the downgraded Seattle captains get their position back. Perhaps the attrition will even surpass 169 pilots for the year and would outpace the highest estimate of forecast hiring.

Southwest most junior CA March 2011. One would think since their work rules, pay, and QOL are so good, that more people would bypass and upgrade would go junior. Not the case. March 2011 is OAK, bottom barrel junior base. Don’t even ask something more desirable like PHX or MCO.

Your right it’s all speculation at this point. My only angst was with the quote that our union sucks and isn’t even asking for UAL TA numbers… we were pathetic once again. I mentioned the free healthcare, and I think it’s a 3 percent node in 401k contribution. The health care is worth about $6 in hourly rate. It is not totally free healthcare, but zero cost monthly premiums. There are still copays, deductibles, and out of pocket maximums though… It is a nice benefit though. The 401k is worth about $6 hour for the average FO and $9 hour for the average CA at UAL. 👍👍👍.
