Ok, let see how well your post ages! You write this a lot. Let’s give it a little time.

OTZ, what’s the latest on the merger/787s? An update would be appreciated by all.

I had a line check the other day and I jokingly asked the LCA about rumors.....specifically, "hey, when are those 787s coming?"

and the LCA's response was "you guys need to stop listening to OTZEagle......stop feeding the internet troll "

No one know, but I’m sure the same scraps will still fall to the bottom (just like any other airline). But hopefully you’ll at least be able to have more control over your days off. I believe LC will automatically be assigned if you don’t get a line, and then you can bid for non-convertible LC or SC. If you haven’t listened to the union podcasts yet you should.

I've listened to the podcasts and studied the relevant sections of the contract. I'm just trying to get a sense of the true impact. Captains I'm flying with think reserve >>>trips<<< will be even worse with the new system. My personal experience with scheduling hasn't been flawless so I'm also worried about the promise of long call not panning out.

the trips in open time will likely look very similiar, mostly crummy trips that people don’t want to fly. People who bid the non convertible LC can most likely expect to be called first, followed by those who remain on convertible LC, then SC. PBS should at least give reserves slightly more control over what days they get off.

Look that the trips that make up current OF lines and opentime. Those are what you can expect to be leftover after the PBS award is run. You'll have your pick of those and whatever trips gets called in sick for.

That said I think LCR will work out great, especially if you self assign so you have more control over your schedule. And if you have any seniority amongst the reserves, you may not fly at all.

As long as you can hold "LCR Non-Convertible" in the future. I got bounced back to LCR this month and got short call converted 3 times. And its absolutely not worth the extra pay when you have a transcon commute.

I mean absolutely brilliant! UAL has 4 gates in SEA, but they are opening up a base. You are capable of basic reasoning?

There will be NO merger, and there certainly won’t be any widebodies. Growth will be limited if at all and folks are still leaving, btw.
