The. Stock. Market. Is. Not. The. Economy.
You want to literally cheer whenever oil spikes or the market dips. Don't you realize that all this recession talk is to put pressure on the Fed to lower rates?
The billionaire class is addicted to free money, and daddy needs his low interest fix.

Now we have Kit Darby types who think the pilot shortage going forward is now recession proof with no effect from any economic calamity or black swan event?
And here I was, thinking La La Land was just a movie starring Emma Stone.

You're right. I don't work for Alaska, and believe me, I'm glad I don't... I work for Southwest which I've mentioned many times.
I also wouldn't give two sh*ts if you're paid in peanuts or soybeans. My problem is that pattern bargaining affects us all, and you are agreeing to:
1) Take a pay cut instead of getting a pay raise given the inflation rates.
2) You're promoting the company dragging their feet in future negotiations by not insisting on full retro. In fact, you're financially rewarding them for dragging their feet.
And in doing all that, especially in this pilot market, you're making our NC's job of securing an industry-leading contract that much tougher.
You're worth more... now if you could only actually believe it, everyone would be better off.

Maybe try typing that in the morning after you're done drowning your sorrows...
Funny you should say that. We had the largest picket in single location in Dallas in June. Over 1300 pilots out picketing. Check it out...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ME8NtFnIKLc
Something else, I admire you guys putting up very impressive pickets and a strike vote. But instead of capitalizing on it, you're choking. And to make matters worse, you seem to take issue with pilots from other airlines pointing out that you're better than this offer.
No one who comes here and tells you you deserve better is your enemy. Personally, I think you've been in a highly abusive relationship for far too long, and I'm here to effectively cheer you on in pointing out that this is the time to get yours. Instead of looking at this for what it is - a fellow pilot telling you you're better than that and that in this environment, you're choosing to look at those pilots as your enemy. That's what battered spouses do. They support their abusers and anyone pointing out to them that they can do better is their enemy.
That's sad.

OTZ has kool-aid in his veins and you are right about the Stockholm Syndrome at ALK. Those of us who have self respect and a backbone are strong no voters.
I for one, appreciate your support. Thanks man.

1300??? Dude we had 1500 out of around 3000 spread out over 5 bases. Biggest picket in ALPA history.
Here’s the thing dude. Your encouragement is buried in a mountain of condescension. And maybe…. once you and your union have earned it, you can swing back by and tell us again what losers us, our NC, our MEC, our LEC’s and our pilots are…. But, you haven’t….. not yet anyway.

How about this, he just posts his W2 and lets the math do the talking. Let's circle back to this in a year and see how well that worked out for us.

Good deal. Ours was the biggest in a single location. In any case, you've had a fantastic showing. Why choke in this environment over something that doesn't even cover the inflation? That doesn't make any sense unless you've been so battered (and you have), and any movement is seen as a major leap when in reality, it's just a decent starting point.
You can take it whichever way you want. Your choice.
And no, I didn't say you're losers. I said you're accepting a subpar offer when you don't need to be, after being abused for decades.

Oh yeah, thanks for that, it’s actually slightly different then you imply, but of course you already know that. Your a big shot SWA pilot now and you let everyone know, every day! Pretty comical, a couple of SWA bubbas grandstanding, arguing about size in another airlines anonymous web board, really. Why are you and RJ still here again🤔, your here to talk about our TA? Like an airline you don’t work for… rates, retro, scope that you will never work under and your still here talking about size. Seriously, do you two know how to read a room? Both of you are like two dudes at a black tie event wearing boat shoes, black socks pulled up to your knees, paired with cargo shorts. Are you two seriously still here? Ask yourselves, who asked for your opinions, what qualifies either of you as experts on anything, especially with regard to another carriers contract.
You two want to help the AS pilot group about as much as a used car salesman wants to help a 19 year old buying her first car. Get lost!
Hey, and when two you leave could you grab “brown easy no” by the arm and walk him out too. He has been lost, for sometime, roaming our halls “thinking”😂, seriously I think he might need help, he is real Delta, hired not acquired. Yes, you three will get along great. Thanks in advance, that’s a real solid, he has great ideas, just like you two.
