Buy stocks now. In 3 months, they will have increased in value and you can sell them at a nice profit.

Who’s convinced?

It would be hard to not vote yes on this TA. The negotiations committee provided a lot of quality of life improvements. There will always be more that we want to improve in any contract but we can work on those lesser ticket items in the next couple of years.

It’s a great TA brought us up to everyone else line we wanted. Short cycle 3 years will go by quick and we will be right back at the table. Yes for me

If there are problems with the TA, the time to address them is NOW, not after ratifying it. And there are problems with it. How will we ever get a contract we're actually proud of if we accept something that's only 80% of the way there and always punt the last 20% to "the next couple of years?"

^^^^THIS^^^^

But sadly that’s not the Alaskan way and hasn’t been for the last 90 years.

Shyguy, I think you are a little misled on how some of those scenarios play out in case 1-5.

Everyone call a rep with questions that need that much detailed explaining.

Head bashing against wall
Ehh, what's up Doc?! Just wanted to follow up on this. Not sure who you got your info from but Shy and myself are understanding this 100% correctly. (Although we have different outlooks on it). It really is as it's written. The only airline that will not be used as a comparator should they not have a new contract, is JB. UA, DL, SW and AA are all factored into the average on 9/1/23, regardless of a new rate or not. That's why we get the higher of the average or 4%. So for any increase above 4% next September, the other airlines.....well, I'm sure you know how averages work. This won't change how either of us votes but just wanted to stop the spread of misinformation. Maybe the rep who explained it to you didn't understand what you were asking??

Rumor that Southwest has $375/hour on the table now for their top pay rate. So the $330/hour could go up in 6 months to a year once the other airlines strike deals with their pilots.

Yeah that’s how I like to negotiate too. Coattails are easy.

Rumor being the key word….

We all saw how rumors worked out for United….

Like I said… “it’s not perfect”, this will pass. I’ve yet to talk face to face with a NO. That said the bug seems to be the retro pay and all individual’s I’ve spoken with have gotten over that single item and look at the package as a rather good TA.
