I’ve heard people beg for San Diego base for as long as I can remember. People at Alaska have been begging for one forever, asking for it at every all pilot call, or every recurrent, fourth stripe, ground school or cockpit visit when anyone form management came up to the cockpit. Begging BM, Tilden, DM, JL and their check airmen for one. Alaska finally gets one, and because someone MAY get downgraded from his miserable life of reserve to an okay schedule finally, he’s up in arms. Maybe the guy can finally get a good night sleep for a few months to end up getting 737 captain in SFO again.
Not knocking 135 pilots but bringing in people from corporate to 121 and hear them complain nonstop is insufferable. He sits and tells people to ignore him but he gets quoted and responded to on every page in every thread. For someone who’s perpetually fatigued and abused he has a ton of time to sit and post FUD and misery on this forum.

A Bid Run pilot returning from sick leave shall notify the Company that they are available for duty not later than sixteen (16) hours prior to their return to duty.
Example: A Bid Run pilot calls in well at 1600LDT for a Flight Grouping with a report time of 0801LDT the following day, returns to duty and is not charged sick leave since this is greater than sixteen (16) hours from report time.
a. When notification is made after sixteen (16) hours prior to report time, such Bid Run pilot returning to duty shall be Paid and Credited, and their sick leave accrual debited (when applicable), in accordance with Subsection 12.B (Sick Leave Pay, Credit, and Debit) for the following day.
Example: A Bid Run pilot calls in well at 1600HST for a Flight Grouping with a report time of
0600LDT the following day, remains on sick leave since this is less than sixteen (16) hours prior to report time.
A Reserve Run pilot returning from sick leave shall notify the Company that they are available for duty and shall be scheduled for their next published RAP.
Example: A Reserve Run pilot calls in well at 0730LDT for an assigned RAP starting at 0800LDT the same day, returns to duty and is not charged sick leave since this is prior to their next published RAP.
Example: A Reserve Run pilot aggressively picks up a 3-day Flight Grouping. Prior to that Flight
Grouping, the pilot calls in sick and does not call in well greater than 16 hours prior to report. The pilot would have the Flight Grouping removed from their schedule and be charged sick leave for each reserve day missed.

I believe you mean part 91, and there’s not many of those guys here. Anyone that actually knows anything about 135 knows that it doesn’t even compare to 121 (which is infinitely better than 135 QOL) .. and we ALL complain to no ends in this industry. Yourself included as you just did.
by the way, do you really believe pilots can ask for anything like a base change? It has absolutely nothing to do with us and they don’t care what we want they are interested in making money 100% only. Wake up!
if ur not complaining about at least one thing during a pairing ur either management or ur not to be trusted LOL

did you just spawn into 121 ops straight out the womb as gods gift to aviation?

There will be downgrades. At the expense of people from the PNW moving to San Diego and learning the hard way their income will be taxed at 13% and houses their wife likes are 3-5 million.

I’m just gonna go ahead and wait to see the bid award before I get all upset about anything but taking first available upgrade always has a risk of being temporary, literally everywhere. There might be some forced downgrades, but not for the reasons a certain someone has been chanting for like 2 years now. We will have a net gain in captains, that's a good thing.
