Merger announcement was Apr 4 and closed in Dec 14th, at which point VX became wholly owned by the AS Air Group. If you wanted to work at AS, why wouldn't you apply to VX?
because we don't know what the transfer rules are yet. Will you be locked Virgin side? Will there be a Virgin side? Are they keeping the Buses?

These are real questions that need answering depending on one's QOL goals.

Default So I got the wishy washy email as well....but

Then one of my AS contact said to just update my Resume without reapplying. Well I started to do that but it looks like it started a whole new application after I downloaded the Resume. So I'm stuck now wondering if I should finish the new app or just not complete it since they are looking at my older one.

They are merging the two airlines, negotiating a joint CBA and integrating the two seniority lists. That has been clear from the union, company and the TPA. How long until this is all sorted out is anyone's guess. There could be fences around bases and equipment. Nothing has been decided/announced on the fleet plan yet.

Apply again notwithstanding email...worst case=2 applications in system...oops sorry, I really want to work at AS.

Don't apply because e-mail said you didn't have to...worst case=you have 0 applications on file and will not get hired.

How is this even an issue?

The issue I see is that if you're in line ahead of those who are newly applying for the first time then it could throw you back to the back of the line. However I don't know if that happens. Why else would they say not to update or reapply?

Per e-mail from a base Chief this morning, HR does says you DO NOT need to re-apply but they are searching a good option for people to update their apps.

I have found two places to post a application/resume for Alaska Airlines. The Smart Recruiters site and Alaska Airlines Career sit (https://tam.alaskaair.com/psp/asjobs...on=A&SiteId=10). Just wondering if anyone had SA as to which to use or if I should submit applications on both?

Welcome to the sh** show that is applying to Alaska Airlines. No one knows anything and no one can agree what to do, when or where to apply for what or what information should be submitted to which site anywhere. Whewwww...

I wonder if "smart recruiters" should rethink their name......
