Just curious, how does AS do seniority in a newhire class?

Has anyone heard anything about Alaska providing hotels during training? I've heard rumors from multiple sources but nothing confirmed.

Oldest to Youngest in each class. Makes sense since we have a mandatory retirement age.

Application question...

Is anyone else having an issue where the work experience section won't accept a certain end date? I have the first entry that ends on a certain date and I begin my new job on the same date (I'm prior military). I keep getting a red box on the end date of the first entry and it will only clear when I put an end date after the start of the start date of the new job, which of course makes it inaccurate. Here's the kicker...I have the exact same scenario with a different set of dates later in my job history and it accepts those just fine. No problem. The application won't let you continue until you fix the "error". Super frustrating. Any ideas?

The rumor we heard was yes, starting with the July classes.

Just make it work, no one is going to look that closely at dates. The only company I know of that worries about trivial stuff like that likes to spell Airlines with 2 words.

I also heard that they may resume training classes as early as June now.
I have heard nothing as far as how many new hires, and how many for Virgin versus Alaska.

Last I heard the next Alaska class is still slated for July, of course, that could have changed.

As of Jan 1, 2017 72 pilots have been hired by Alaska and I believe that they want to hire approximately 150 pilots on the Alaska side in 2017.

I do not know how many have been hired by Virgin America in 2017 so far, but it was confirmed that the Airbus utilization rate has increased which has lead VX to double their 2017 hiring plan. I believe in late 2016 they announced they wanted to hire 56 in 2017, so double that and you have 112 new hires for Virgin America in 2017. (I'm sure a VX pilot can chime in on this figure)

The hiring will continue into 2018 as Alaska is receiving additional 737s and Virgin America brings on 5 more A321NEOs which from what I understand will be evaluated/considered seriously by AS management as they determine a future fleet.

Had an AS FO in my jump today. I'd like to check on two rumors s/him supplied.
1. AS plans on covering housing for new-hires starting with the next class. (July 2017).
2. AS plans to hire 500 in the next year. (Was not clear on whether this covered AS/VX or just AS.)

Thoughts???

I believe you will get the TBNT email if you don't meet a qualification they want. Other than that it's crickets till you get a call.
