Of course I would move to an Alaska base if hired.
Not a problem. I was an East Coast Navy guy when I got hired. If you're willing to be based in ANC (not necessarily move there) then AS will hire you. They're looking for the best fit (aside from the nepotism) for the culture.

Customer service, community service and a LOT of TPIC will get you a job at AS.

Don't let the fact that you're from a geographical area where you don't know any Alaska pilots discourage you. I always heard that unless you were heavily connected to someone at Alaska, you'd never get hired. That's simply not true. I was hired without knowing anyone inside the company and it was my qualifications that got me hired, and not who I knew. Don't listen to the negativity of those on this board or you'll never even try. Especially if you listen to the likes of packrat.

Hi, this is my fourth Alaska window I've completed and was wondering if anyone has figured a way to remove the old resumes from previous windows/profile? I can successfully delete old cover letters/LOR's but not resumes. Maybe it doesn't even matter? Not sure what to think.

Perhaps that's by design. Alaska has always been big on career progression. Previous resumes would be a good way to review a pilots career, verify employment, even level of maturity.

When I interviewed I recognized several things in my file were from many years earlier. As far as I know they keep everything you ever send them.

I didn't know anyone either. All I've ever said is having inside contacts are very helpful TODAY. And if you happen to have Daddy wearing 4 AS stripes, you're a shoo-in. If he's a 2nd floor guy, you'll get hired AND an IP job right off the street. That means Captain checkout immediately.

Agreed. And you haven't even seen your AS "secret" file.

Has anyone tried the application in the last 48 hours? I keep getting to the end of the app and it tells me I haven't answered all the questions. I have gone over them several times, none missing. I have tried internet explorer 9, 10, and safari on my iPad... When I review my college education section, it also keeps telling me I haven't checked the "graduated" box, but there isn't one.

Kafkaesque.

FedEx is like that, too.

So I heard they did first round interviews at Oshkosh. Does anyone know when and where they're going to do that again? I visited their booth at the Anchorage trade show earlier this year and they were not interviewing. Would be nice to know which trade shows/job fairs to target.
