We just had a younger former VX captain leave for Spirit if that tells ya anything about our QOL work rules.

I believe that was mostly for commute (basing) and family reasons.

Of course it was. But, not many people would take a $200K hit in pay if they were optimistic about future possibilities at their current employer. Wonder how many commuting Airbus/Boeing captains at DAL, UAL, SWA, or AA punch out for Spirit.

Stop using logic. The cult like appeal of west coast living and the childhood dream of “I always wanted to work for AS since I was a kid”. That’s what really matters.

I’ve heard that pretty much the only way to get hired OTS at Alaska is by internal recommendations, is there any truth to that?
