Alaska Air Hiring

Less people with that attitude on our planes, the better. It’s interesting how so many people here want policy and contractual changes but ONLY if it benefits them. This policy is a welcome change and will significantly improve the happiness of some of our frontline employees with zero detriment to others.
Now is this what I want management focusing on when several labor groups are unhappy and beyond deserving industry pay and benefits? No.
But it doesn't impact anyone in any way. Don't need a pronoun pin? Move the hell on... Pilots getting bent out of shape about this is not only silly, it is a little bit insane.

I do however have this vague-ish concern in the back of mind that this stuff might go too far. Time well tell.
My Navy command master chief retired in 2011, I asked why he was leaving one year prior to his HYT limit of 30 years for E9. He said, well sir, it's this gay stuff... when I joined up it was illegal. Then it became sort of OK. Now it's authorized. I'm leaving before they make it mandatory. I'm know he was kidding, but it was pretty funny at the time.

OK, now I'm irritated, just bought several tickets on SWA after making the post above... for each one I had to select my gender. Which was originally saved in their system in about 1995. So I went into my profile to re-save my gender, and that's not allowed... apparently they are FORCING me to reconsider my gender EVERY time I buy a ticket. THIS is the kind of in-your-face woke BS which offends people. As long as you can change your gender at will in your profile WTF do they need shove it in your face every time? 99.999% of us are sticking with what we were born with

All these work policies are to some extent ok, I want Everybody to feel ok, however, that extends to both sides. I must accept the fact that some people are gay and some are transgender. They must accept the fact that not everybody feels comfortable with that. I once had two gay FAs ( male, atleast I believe they identified as such) talked extremely loud and vulgar what they did to respective partner in the jet ridge with everybody to hear, including pax. It is that attitude, right in your face and you better like it…I have never heard my heterosexual friends talk like that infront of pax or employees, in a loud voice how they took care of their partner at night. Although if you read the news you get the feeling, 90% of our population falls In these two categories. That’s the problem. The bigger problem is that companies have lost sight of their operations, but have focused on these policies and pushing them relentlessly down employees throats.

This is unacceptable, but only because it should be unacceptable for ANYONE, regardless of sexual orientation, to subject a captive audience to unsolicited bedroom stories. Why not keep your distaste focused where it actually belongs: towards people talking about their sex lives at work? And leave the rest of the queer community, that doesn't make a habit of doing that but have nonetheless been characterized by you as something "not everybody feels comfortable with," out of it? And no, I don't buy for a second that it's only the gays being vulgar at work. A few months ago I flew with a captain who wanted to teach me (got up out of his seat to demonstrate) how to make a girl squirt. The female FA's are sexually harassed probably every day in one form or another by male pilots and passengers. So nice try, but no.

Replace "gay" or "transgender" with "black" and then read that sentence again - who are you to tell a group of people that they just need to accept your intolerance?
