Alaska Air Hiring

121 lines for June Boeing in LA? Staffing problem solved.
April - 132
May - 125
June - 121
Seattle lines
April - 403
May - 416
June - 381
Lotta cuts to flying, loss of revenue and profit, but don’t worry we somehow have so much leverage, they are shaking at the knees and cut flying + put half of the base on reserve.

If you understand and internalize this reality, then watching the paint dry on this process will be better appreciated for what it is.

I'm just gonna say this because no one has said it yet and I'm going to sound prophetic when proven right. Alaska is going to outbid JetBlue again and will bid 4.5 billion for spirit. That's what all this has been leading up to, can't you all see it? That is the great secret plan. I'm not saying it makes sense or anything but whatevs

Simply that they filed for it - not ALPA. Or in other words, they filed first. If they had any inkling the NMB would be quick to declare impasse and release into a cooling, would they really have filed for NMB negotiations? Wouldn’t it have made more sense to just continue direct negotiations with ALPA? It seems their move was done with zero fear and well thought out in advance.

Look all, It is not our decisions where and when to fly. I want to grow and gain more seniority, upgrade, and reap the benefits for a growing company but that is not going to happen right now.
However, as they do reduce our flying (which pilots can't control) and they hopefully do have reserves (which I assume they will as they continue to reduce our flying do to ensure reserves), I am going to enjoy my summer. Even if there are no reserves, I'm not going to fly 87 like most of the lines in SEA. Personally, I will enjoy family and friends, support our Union and enjoy the summer King fishing and fly around 50ish per month. Make this place work for you. That's the only way to be happy here.

That is a bit strange management filed. It’s possible they believed alpa was about to file and rolled the dice based on the list of mediators that were available at the time of filing. They didn’t know which one would be selected but they knew which ones were available and which ones would become available. I know alpa does this strategy regularly.

Its all optics......I hope they finally start to realize that the phrase "My MEC Speaks For Me" isn't a computerized automatic reply.
