Top 1% at retirement, top 25-30 pilots.

Ok, that is what my calculations came out to as well. But it was extremely linear, steady - no remarkable periods of quick movement for the entire 35 years based on current numbers available (this website). I ran numbers for United, American, Delta, Southwest, and Fedex too, and based on those, after about the first 5 years, I'd have roughly 15-20% higher seniority, relative to Alaska, at all of them for the next 25 years, after which point it levels off and the last 10 years at Alaska would be better. The advantage Alaska has is that I won't have to commute my entire career, and if I do, its RDM or MFR to PDX/SEA.

I welcome critiques to my assessment here. There are probably things I am not accounting for.

Seniority affects everything. Upgrade, vacation, days off etc. Don’t wait until your last 10 years to enjoy it. Plenty of UA and DL out of RDM/MFR.

When you pull numbers out of your ass, at least be honest about it

He'd retire at least #100/3300

You will be at the bottom of the list for a very long time. Dont expect to upgrade under 11 years.

11 year upgrade? Stark difference from the 6 years I’ve heard recently. 27 year old here starting class next month fwiw

Ya, with attrition and growth how would it not go down.

This timeline also includes a year and a half of a pandemic with absolutely no movement.

Due to the fact that all of the remaining Airbus captains and a significant number of Airbus FOs are senior to the most junior Boeing captains. There are several hundreds of FOs who have been bypassing upgrade. There are going to be displacements out of the Airbus and even with Boeing vacancies it is entirely possible the upgrade times goes up significantly, it won’t be 11 years but it could go to more like the 6 year range depending on base.
