However, the freighters do almost exclusively state of Alaska flying and Seattle. Since ANC and FAI are the only Alaskan airports that don't need a special qualification, the PDX and LAX bases rarely see it. The combi will make its way into those base's lines since it does the last SEA-ANC flight each night.

Looking forward to that profit sharing check. Monday right? I thought last year was going to be the last good year. Guess I was wrong. Seems unlikely 2015 will be even stronger. Have we seen the high water mark?

We hit the maximum payout... It can't go much higher than that.. Although if they want to show us how much they care maybe they should double it!!!!!!!

Once the 400's are gone - Three 700 freighters. No combi's. By the end of 2016, the fleet is suppose to be 800's, 900's and Max.
Lots of future flying for QX in AK. What are we gonna do? Take a 800 to PSG, WRG, ADQ, DGG, ADK, DLG, AKN, YAK, CDV, SIT, BET, and make any money? The State of AK will largely go back to QX turbo props with seasonal AK jets on a few markets. The AK mainline will continue its "outside" (that's how AK folks say "lower 48") battle with Deltoid - which so far has added so much growth and prosperity that I am thankful for them putting a fire under Brad's feet.

If people have a choice they will choose Ravn (ERA) or Penair, rather than Horizon. No TSA hassle and local pilots flying well known routes. If Alaska decides to completely drop jet service to Alaska's smaller communities then it will be the end of Alaska airlines loyalty. It would be bad timing as Delta is increasing flights to Anchorage, FAI and Juneau. Alaska Air forgets its roots when focusing on "outside" markets like MarkAir and Wein Air Alaska did, well history shows how that went.

I sure hope it isn't the high water mark....need a lot of coin in 2015 for that epic 2016 pay raise.

Alaskans are not real happy with the Q400. Seems the bean counters figure it works on paper, but not in the real world. The crews are not familiar with Alaska flying in general (personal experience on a recent flight that boomeranged going to Kodiak due to a 20 kt crosswind).

Alaska is in no danger of loosing their EAS, the Q's have been on a slow march to CVD, YAK, GST, PSG, & WRG. Alaska has enough clout with the DOT and State to change the fleet type with out any issue. Heck the state ARFF guys in these towns have had training on the Q for the last few years. The big hang up has been getting the new freighter fleet online, and retiring the combi's.

Loosing is not a word.....
EAS more in danger due to congress than competition. Maybe ALK is getting ready for the day that EAS is no longer and they need equip in place that is profitable without suckling from the government teet. (yes a word in the urban dictionary). That is all....
