Extensive article about plans to grow SEATAC. While I don't doubt DL could take over SEA given enough time and money, I'm not worried yet because I know how hard it is to get things built around here. From local residence to the disfunctional Port itself, given enough opposition, it will be a long slog to get the gates space DL desperately needs. Of course there's always a the takeover option.

FYI for anyone on reserve: this contract rule keeps getting violated when I am getting assigned trips. They keep assigning me day trips that extend past my reserve period by 1 hour, but don't follow the contract and give me (4 hours notice prior to my report time). I think I'm reading the contract correctly? Its happened 4 times in 7 months, so I assume its happening to everyone else.

Were the trips scheduled to go beyond 1 hour of the end of your RAP or were they schedule to extend past your reserve period by close to an hour? The difference in the length of the extension makes or breaks this as a contract violation. If they are violating the contract, point it out to the scheduler, his/her supervisor and ALPA before accepting the assignment.

Have you contacted the CCT? This is exactly what they are there for. They'll either educate you, or grieve it.

They changed the "fly then grieve" policy? I'd be very careful about not accepting assignments.

No one said anything about not accepting assignments.

Yes, I would too. That's good advice since pilot(s) have been fired for not accepting legal, reassignments. If I'm not mistaken one was recently fired that had over 20 years. Is this true?

Hopefully it's OK to re-follow my obnoxious Seahawks friends on social media.
