I have to disagree with two things. One calling the Alaska agreement an OLD POS contract is a bit much, especially when we're working on a genuine OLD POS. And Alaska like contract would be a massive leap forward. It's far from a "roll over and accept anything".
Second thing I disagree is that folks are getting worn down by the company. That's not true. Mainly bc many pilot have been tired by the ineffective and botches negotiations that happened while AR negotiated. Not to mention how HE himself TORPEDOED negotiations in August 2023.
Taking the FIRST mailer was considered an insult and yada yada, but if we would've taken something as such and made it a 3 year deal we would be 6 months from beginning CBA 3.0, and we wouldn't be starting from such a set back. It's absolutely ubsurd to think that having this just drag on and drag on, we're going to be able to make up all the financial loss or will reach a PHENOMENAL DEAL through strike.
I think we are close, will reach something that's both fair and a win/win for both parties. We'll see if next week is an indication of real progress. A TA on section 15 next week would be the right direction. I think it's very achievable.

A phenomenal deal will not come through a strike, in fact the probability of a strike is almost nil.
The fact of the matter is this— we are hemorrhaging money each day this goes on. There is no CBA that will make up what we have lost out on.
I will say, I agree. Hindsight is always 20/20 but the 2022 mailer on a 3 year deal would have been significantly better than what we have endured since then. That said, we’d be starting a nearly 3+ year long process still far behind, just not as far.
I appreciate optimism, but any I’ve had has been killed by the sheer ineptitude shown by GU and his newest negotiators. $10,000,000 in the bank, in a fight against the premiere labor law firm in the country, and the best we can do is a mediocre attorney with a wealth of experience negotiating at Atlas and Northern Air Cargo? Complimented only by the likes of a failed rent-to-own furniture franchisee, a couple pay to play MBA guys, and an average state school guy leading the circus? Pardon my pessimism, but would you bet money on the “underdog” here? Likely not— yet here we are all betting with the future of our careers.
Mark my words, I’m not prophetic but here we go. Tomorrow on GU’s “update” he’s going to drone on about another slowdown on why we have no new bylaws, then he’s going to brag about just how good they are. He’ll apologize for being sick and then say he’s a busy guy. Shortly thereafter, he’s going to let JA or JR give the “eh, we’re hopeful” spiel. Then he’ll open it up to questions where he’ll start every answer with “look, I appreciate it (that) and…”
He’s terrible for Allegiant, terrible for Teamsters, and terrible for the industry. It’s time we seek help from O’Brien.

Also worth noting for all the “it’s the wrong time for ALPA Folks…” ALPA would’ve been on property for 8 months at this point, can’t imagine we’d still be without a contract over the current circus GU runs

What a great play from Trustee Unterseher on the resolution for our fellow due paying members who are employed via an H1B Visa. He's using our fellow brothers and sisters as pawns in an effort to increase attrition. "If you need to start looking for a plan, I don't fault you." -Greg on tonights call when telling a due paying member that he has been told to not sign any agreement regarding their futures. Let me make this clear, Greg Unterseher is using due paying members of Local 2118 as pawns in his effort to create leverage that has evaporated on his watch. It is incredibly sickening that he would stoop to this level.

Nobody is offering us an Alaska Airlines contract, where are you hearing this? If this is the case I’ll read their contract right now. Hopefully you are not referring to just Alaska $$$ section. Money is the easy part. But in all seriousness if the company is offering Alaska, first I am hearing and I will read their contract cover to cover. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying.

I haven’t heard directly whether or not this is true, someone please feel free to tell me I’m wrong. I was sent this from a few pilots last night, I’ll summarize:
Last night on the Trustee Update, SPC Chairman AA stated that busy spring break flying is coming up. That Allegiant pilots continue to bail out management, who creates a staffing model that is predicated on knowing pilots will staff VFNs and open time. He then stated it’s time for pilots to “read between the lines and that’s all I’ll say.”
If true, it is an alarming attempt at an illegal work action. If our Local Leadership is truly dumb enough to say something like this in the public forum, it’s time for them to go. The end result will not be IBT taking our $10,000,000, it will be management taking it the second one VFN goes unfilled in March and they sue the union.
The gross negligence that has taken place is teetering on the precipice of becoming a violation of the IBT’s duty to fairly represent all members of Local 2118. The blatant disregard of acting in our collective best interest is appalling. We are quickly approaching a year of Mr. Unterseher’s “temporary” tenure with Local 2118 and we have absolutely nothing to show for it.
At this time, it seems vital that we due paying members band together and question IBT leadership on Mr. Unterseher’s underperformance.
[QUOTE=jimmy8;3882166]is this the end of new Supreme Ruler GU?!…God I hope so. I also think that’s about the first time JR has spoken up about anything. I’m surprised GU let him, or maybe it was apart of the script he was given[/QUOTE
Was it stated when the transcript of the call will be released? I missed the call due to a sim event.

I think you misunderstood. Just do whatever you think is best.

Misunderstood the SPC Chairman calling for an illegal work action? Like I said, I haven’t yet heard directly what was said. Would you please summarize it with a quote?
