Interview. The fact you are "out of currency" and they called you means they're interested. Just explain why you lost currency and that's it. If they say no after that, then it's their loss and more than likely they'll hire some other zap that will just quite during training or shortly after.

Is it a wise choice to leave Mesa to go to Allegiant? Would it be a good bridge to get to a legacy?

Allegiant pay is really crappy, and I make at Mesa ($140k/year as line holding FO) way more than I'll ever make at allegiant FO. Granted I do pickup open time, but still... So? Do legacies hire from allegiant as much as they do Spirit?

Are new hires being out in 737 now? (do they even operate that now)

Is there a lot of open time to pickup?

Is there a lot of 4 day trips or are all majority day trips?

Junior bases?

Not a wise choice to go to Allegiant if your goal is a legacy. You will make less money and just waste your time. If you are line holding at mesa you can just go to a legacy now.

plenty of allegiant pilots go to legacies. At this point it doesn’t matter what company you are flying for a legacy will just call you today.

Why don’t you go directly to a legacy right now?

If you want to go to a legacy stay at Mesa and update apps. You could delay any advancement to a legacy if you have any hiccup in training or run-in with the disciplinary thing at Allegiant. Probably better to spend time going to meet-ups. 737 are not flying yet and will probably be next year in Florida, barring any more delays in cert and or Boeing delivery schedules.

99% of scheduled flights are day trips so commuting is not a realistic option - in fact it should not be an option for anybody.

approx 45% of our FOs are attriting out and I’d say the vast majority are leaving for legacies or southwest.

Time to line is unpredictable, depends how many people quit, if more aircraft make their way into the base, and if the senior FOs bid reserve. For November the #1 FO bid reserve. I'd be more concerned about the potential for involv TDY as the plug but I don't think it's too common out of ABE.

As far as time to get the base, zero spots in ABE were offered to the October 31st class. There is one ABE FO vacancy on the current vacancy whose results will be used for both the Nov 21 and Dec 5th class. I see that one spot possibly making its way to new hires, but very high chance that if it does, someone in the Nov 21 class or senior to you in the Dec 5th class gets it, in which case it will be about 2-4 months *minimum* post training for you to get your base. What if 4 people in the Nov 21 class want ABE? It's definitely playing Russian roulette...you could end up waiting 6 or 12 months. Thats how long some guys have been having to wait for IND, or TYS, or AUS, which all used to be junior bases. There are currently no training delays whatsoever, so with future vacancies running several months out you *will* commute if you don't instantly get your base, and it will be very rough especially since much of the commute time will be over spring break and summer when reserves often only get 10 days off. Run a hypothetical commute to BLI, which 3 pilots are faced with in the near future looking at the seniority list.

For reference, only 1 of 13 new hires in the last class got their base of choice (ATW) out the gate. I can't think of a time it's ever been that low. This statistic should be very concerning to anyone reading.
Saw IND mentioned above, is waiting for IND still the norm or would i have a chance holding it out of training? i have a low SSN (1) and live 45 min from Indy. Thanks in advance!
