Are all airframes equally un-commutable? For example, is it plausible to live in Seattle and be based in Vegas on the 757, or is that just not realistic?

It's pretty unrealistic. As far as I know, every aircraft type really only operates on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. There is a limited amount of flying on the other days, but it varies by base.

If you live in Seattle, work out of Bellingham on the Airbus and you can drive to work everyday.
