I think we've gone over this several times, Rat. I encourage you to go back and re-read the thread if you can't remember.

Military guys have no 121 time and the legacies are tripping over themselves hiring these guys. I agree with the above posters though. If you're under 45 years old with all those quals, they know you be gone soon.

The demographics of the recent classes has changed from historical ones. Before, you could've counted the ex-military on our seniority list with one hand and the average new hire was in their early 30's. We have seen a substantial increase in the amount of ex-military and the average age has gone up well into the mid 40's. Do they like military because they are used to rigorous training programs, or is it because they have limited experience with unions and management relations and are viewed as more submissive to management? If it's the latter, management is in for a rude awakening because these guys are learning quickly.

I completey agree. It seems as if military guys get a free pass. I used to fly with two of those guys from the 89th (presidential). Nice folks however their flying style was bizarre to say the least. For example the night before we would fly they would go over every sid and every star the airports had. They'd spend an hour reviewing the taxi diagram. I'd never seen anything like it before. Some military guys just see black and white. As a pilot you must have the ability to see shades of gray and think outside the box. Ill never understand why the airlines favor these guys. I'm in my mid thirties.

"Allegient" IS a major.

OMG I hate Merlot. Every month about this same time my blood pressure rises as I waste my time with this lousy bid system. Maybe I wouldn't mind if I thought my bid actually meant something. So frustrating. Without a 'reasons report' I have zero confidence in this program.

In reality, you should be mad at Microsoft. Merlot is just for you to enter/view your schedule. Excel is where it is really awarded.

Have you sent in a detailed report to the ‘Merlot Team’, and/or your respective base CP? If they could only get enough ‘feed-back’ from us [sigh.]. Our concerns are being addressed by our fellow team members in this capacity. Mav is doing everything he can. Between volleyball and trying to find the negotiators, I mean come on. Fighter weapons school wasn’t this long.

Blaming Excel for the solver is like blaming airplanes for 9/11. Both weren't designed to be used as weapons, but at the hands of terrorists they can do some damage.

I have a feeling the March schedule may be abrogated in some force majeure manner. [whistling sound]
