At Allegiant, our CEO takes some paltry yearly salary but he owns 20 PERCENT of the outstanding shares (approx $700 million in stock). Back before our President was kicked out, his 2013 total compensation was $5.2 million.
While that is slightly above Gary Kelly's $4 million for that year, keep in mind the difference in size and revenue between the two carriers. Our president's compensation per dollar of revenue generated was 23 TIMES that of Kelly's.
Executive pay is definitely out of control.

It can't be ignored any longer.

By simply standing in unison, poker faced in partial uniform as one; or even the threat of doing so, makes a lot of folks nervous. Reference a current ugly event, nobody would like to mention. And you have a lot of weak-kneed faa types trying to get ahead of the next disaster.

Allegiant will hire you if you are breathing and can identify an MD-80 two out of three times.
And if you are willing to cross a picket line, they consider that almost an automatic hire.

I heard one of the maintenance inspectors asked the crews for their license and medical only to find the FO doesn't have a type rating listed on his license. I guess While every other American carrier was typing FO's a year ago, G4 wants to wait until the January 2016 deadline.
I didn't think that applied to anyone after August of 2012.

New hire FO's have to be typed initially, current employee FO's do not.

We didn't start full typing FOs till the August '13 class. And that took 6 months or more as they had to send everyone out to get the type because we couldn't do it in house yet. Every 80 FO hired before that and the first few AB FO classes are SIC only on their cert. Clock is ticking and I haven't heard anything solid about how they're going to take care of this.
