Well, the safe answer was all Florida bases. Probably still is. But, now we have this new basing priority called HOM, stands for? Home basing is what its being called. I’m (were) not to sure what it is. Means right now whatever. You are most likely, just living in the parking lot of whatever airport the airplane happens to end up at. Would be my guess. I don’t know.
And now I think, the company is not allowing md fo’s to transfer to the airbus. So, new hires are being sent to airbus. So, that would mean direct to a hard base where the airbus is currently at; pie, sfb and iwa.

Can anyone answer any of the following:
1. What are the 3 most junior bases?
2. At those bases, how long can one expect to sit on reserve?
3. How senior is PGD?
4. Any plans for expansion? More 320?
5. If you DO NOT commute and live at the base, how are the schedules and moving days off around?

Go to about the middle of this thread, and take a look. All of those questions are answered in detail.

It's hard to answer your questions because things are changing so fast right now. Since January 2014.... these are the bases newhires have been awarded:
7 MD80 PIE
13 MD80 SFB
8 MD80 PGD
7 MD80 FLL
6 MD80 LAS
1 MD80 ENV
2 MD80 OAK
Junior bases are Florida but some May 2014 newhires have been awarded OAK and LAS. You will go to PIE, SFB, or IWA if you get awarded airbus. Those are the only airbus bases right now.
The way we are hiring right now (depending on what base you go to) you probably won't be on reserve for long. That being said..... you will probably have a mixed line until we get a contract. I'm pretty senior and had reserve thrown on my line this month.
PGD is junior on the captain and f/o side.
8 airbus coming in 2015 and 12 or so more in 2018. That is subject to change.
Moving your days is almost impossible right now since we are understaffed.

Looking for the personality of a battered spouse.

Hope the pilots can get a contract soon.

Training is in Las Vegas. Although some get sent to MIA for sim and I believe the bulk of the Bus training is also in MIA. For IOE you can be sent to whatever base has a check airman available.

What about picking stuff up on days off or being able to get a high time line?
