So, MG is meeting with 1224 now...wonder what triggered that? Increased exodus, the injunction maybe? Hopefully, some good will come of it. One can hope, you know. Yeah, I know...and shiite in the other hand and see which fills 1st

Not historically, but they are now looking for a slightly different demographic. Older pilots who are less likely to quit within a year are desirable. Usually, the average age of a new hire class is mid-thirties. It looks like the recent classes are mid-to-late forties. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with older, more experienced people, but they are trying to stop the hemorrhaging of pilots to legacies and other LCC's. When I was hired, the perfect candidate was a mid-twenties 1900 or canyon pilot who came from a beat down and dejected carrier. This way, he or she wouldn't know what they were missing.

Nowadays, almost every pilot under the age of 40 is actively looking for other employment and every pilot under 30 is as good as gone within a couple of years.

I see it as a good thing. These guys generally surround themselves with people who do nothing but nod their head in agreement and tell them what they want to hear. I wouldn't be surprised if up until a few days ago MG thought that this pilot group was 50/50 split on being happy with the company. I am hoping he now knows that it's 98/2 (and I'm being generous).

Interesting. So I take it at 2500hr RJ pilot in their mid 20s doesn't stand a chance?

Anything's possible, but you'll have to work extra hard to convince them that you won't bolt at first opportunity. Also, your TT might be a bit low, but exceptions have been made. My advice is to apply to Spirit or stay at your regional and wait until a legacy calls.

Given the right demographic it seems they are more flexible. But then again so is every other airline.

F&H might have given him the scenario. Round and round we will go, ultimately we will strike. How old is he anyways? Maybe he doesn’t want to go out with battle royale, for some reason.

In all fairness, MG didn't meet with 1224. He met with SM, which is what he's always done all the way back to the early aapag days. Don't expect anything to come out of this.

Exactly-have we learned nothing?! I think this is a HUGE step backwards, and I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
