Wow. It's been said before, but your work rules suck.

You've really got to do something about them. You are the Mesa of 100+ seat jets.

Its also the first contract being negotiated with FAR 117 rules. The playing field has changed in this regard so even comparable contracts may not be good enough to start with (although still way better than what allegiant pilots have now)

It's unreasonable to expect industry leading on a 'first contract' - who ever has been able to secure that right out of the box? I'm hopeful for industry average. That would be good for all professional pilots, but most of all for the current pilots of Allegiant. They deserve to be treated better, or no worse than the rest of their peer group, mainline pilots, working for a company they may intend to retire from.

Very true, just be sure that members understand they have to aim very high since they WILL fall short of where they aim.

The point about FAR117 is also valid, as I imagine a lot of the pilots at Allegiant make up for the lack of good pay, with flying A LOT of overtime and open time, etc.. which may not be possible now.

Flying +93 hours in January (10 yr Captain). That is with our new Pref Bidding & 117 rules for 2014 - And that's a line w/out any open time pick up of +93 hrs, fwiw.

That's working entirely too hard for my taste, but to each his own.

With the new PBS you're required to bid the amount they want or they just shove it onto your schedule anyway. I got hit with a 96 hour month. Lots of 6am shows followed by 4pm shows that I never bid. Many people getting one day on followed by one day off all month.

Well they do have 14 open FO trips tomorrow. That's 10% of the total FO count here. Imagine a larger airline having the same amount open just 24 hours out.

I don't know his schedule, but I've had a 95 hour 16 day off line before. Nothing too hard about that. 117 won't change that for the senior pilots.
