I've seen a number of guys get axed for stuff they loaded on Company iPads/computers.

Is it true you were fired from Alaskan?

The problem is that management saying that they "want" to do things to improve the employee's situation is the oldest trick in the book.

It's also a widely employed sales tactic known as "hope for gain." It doesn't cost a thing and it fools a lot of people. My previous employer used to say time and again that they "want" to make better schedules, "want" more desirable bases, "want" a new contract (while successfully dragging negotiations out for 8 years), "want" to change things for the better, etc.

It's not a lie, just slick linguistics.

Well I never did get to do the tech assessment but I did get another email a few hours later asking me to schedule a phone interview.

If you're not laughing hysterically at the thought of Allegiant IT handling the logistics of an iPad EFB, you haven't been there long enough.

Sounds like Allegiant is just practice for Spirit, plus a free type rating.

How hard is it to get based in PIT right off the bat? Also, APC shows upgrade at about a year. Is that still the case?

I got PIT based right off the bat (aug 24 '15 hire), but the base is full now I believe, it's only 6 fo's 6 captains, so a very small base at the moment. I believe it will grow in the near future, there's plans for a second airplane here I think. Of the 6 fo's currently based here, I know at least 3 don't plan on staying for too much longer. My best guess would say that if you can get the bus in training, it won't take you long at all (less than a year) to get PIT. Depending on your age, your bigger issue may be getting the bus. So far it's been a good base in my opinion... good (ish) trips, very small so you know everyone, most guys pretty cool. We do turns to Punta Cana and Cancun 5 days a week for apple vacations (2 days are punta cana, 3 days are cancun), which are awesome turns, but they usually go to the top 2 maybe three guys, so the more junior half usually gets the afternoon florida turns (PIT-JAX, PIT-PIE, PIT-PGD), which aren't great, but not bad either; that or endless reserve! Hope that answers some questions
