Well on the other hand, if you are home every night you can have a wife and a girlfriend. Just saying.

I've also heard that rumor but I don't think it's true. One of my friends was hired at DAL last fall and was in a class of 29 of which 26 were prior military and the other 3 consistent of a preferential interviewee, a regional CKA and a regional pilot/manager. I believe it's just a numbers game at this point. You have maybe 200-300 G4 apps mixed in with 10k+ regional, LLC and corporate apps competing for the 5%-20% of each class that doesn't go to military or preferential interview.

In the almost 10 years I was at Allegiant, I know of one person that went to Delta, and that was in either late 2007 or 2008, don't remember which. There could have been others, but that was the only one I personally know about.
I know there have been a bunch of us come to United, a bunch to Southwest and Alaska, a lot of the TWA furlough's have gone back to AA, a few that went to USAir prior to the merger with AA, and a couple to JetBlue and Spirit.
I know I've gotten a lot of phone calls from people wanting to know the secret to getting out.

I know a prior mil FO who interviewed and got the job at both SWA and Delta. He went to SWA because he lives in LAS and SWA offered a class date much sooner. Seems like if you check the right boxes it's still possible.

Hope to revive this thread by publicizing the following curiosities:
Allegiant has an LAX domicile. I wonder how lucky a new hire would hafta get to be awarded it?
What might be a good source of recent interview experience?

If you're over 40, might be pretty good...if you aren't senior enough in your class to get an AB, forget it

Second this - LAX will be a very senior CA base once the HNL folks flood the place but very junior for FO's. If you can get the Airbus it's a possible new-hire assignment. Cost of living/90 min. to parking lot requirement needs to be factored in.
