If you have a 4 leg day and it's delayed. When they ask if you'll extend half way through it, and you deny the extension, they'll pull you off the trip and tell you that due to the way merlot talks to payroll you won't get paid for the second half. It's an "accounting issue" they say.
Even if it were true, you know you're pay protected and will get paid.

So quit, leave and don't let the door hit you on the way out. I'm happy here for the most part. I'll be even happier after we strike for a great contract. I have never been pushed to fly any broken planes. I have never been badgered by management or scheduling. I've never been tdy'd or had a scheduled overnight. Life is better than it ever was at my last airline.
I almost didn't come to Allegiant because of the APC doom and gloomers like you. From my experience at Allegiant, the vocal minority that like to change their screen names every other month, are nothing but a bunch of prima donna crybabies. If you want to go to a legacy so bad, then go already. If you think regionals are better than G4, then go. I'm sure they would be happy to have you. I make more money 2nd year here than I ever did as an RJ captain. It will be an awesome place after we get a contract.

It's true. It has happened. Not saying you won't get paid eventually. It's just the new tactic to get you to take the extension.

They've asked numerous guys to extend half way thru the day. Some even before they start because they are running 4-5 hrs late. They aren't supposed to but it happens. Quite a bit. And they do try to coerce you by saying you won't be pay protected if you don't extend.

Just in the last five years G4 by percentage has terminated enough captains that would be equal to thousands at a carrier the size of say Delta. We had a captain terminated and accused of leaking proprietary company information via screen shots to the media. Forget about due process and evidence, he and you have no right to it. And no recourse. The mere suspicion by our management and in particular our system chief pilot is all that is warranted.

Calling BS on your story Mister I changed my name because I lost all credibility with my old one. (Are you the one who was complaining that you are a commuter and not home every night?)

If crew scheduling EVER says they will not pay you for not taking an extension. Write down the time, take a screen shot with your phone (to prove they called you)refuse the extension for fatigue and then hang up and call the FAA to have them run the tapes.

Guys I would like to add some holiday fun. I am happy when contract maintenance actually bothers to install the cotter pin on the tail assembly. I am happy when I am actually not under paid every month. I am happy when I am being trained by the testing department. I am happy when I don't have to perform algebraic equations to make an MEL legal. I am happy when I am not terminated for acting in the best interest of my passengers. I am happy when I am not wrongly accused by management for taking screen shots and giving them to the media. I am happy when I don't get smoke in the cabin. I am happy when I get an md motor that wont fall off..
Cheers
