Thanks to everyone that has posted in this thread. I've read all 82 pages and have a few questions that I don't think have been covered:

1. Does Allegiant have an ASAP program?

2. Does Allegiant collect/use FOQA data?

3. Are these crazy fast upgrades on account of attrition or growth?

Best,

Ebborts

1. Yes
2. Yes (but only a couple 80s have it)
3. Both (although most of it appears to be growth and most people don't want the VBD base)

Yes there is an ASAP program. Although in the past, management people in the safety department were known for making changes to files ASAP reports. Don't know if that still goes on.

Last I knew, most of the MD-80's did not collect FOQA data. Some did, and no one generally knew which planes did. People have been called in to the office in the past over data downloads.

The upgrades are happening for several reasons. There is attrition, but most of that is among FO's. There have been several captains leave recently, some of which were pretty senior. One of the other reasons for the fast upgrades is the company arbitrarily holding some people to equipment locks, while not holding others. The other big reason for the fast upgrade is the "HOMeless" base. They are constantly adding people to that, and most people don't want to be in it. Also, as they open small bases in small places, a lot of people aren't willing to bid those based on what happened with GRR, the places are hard to get to unless you want to move (which is a bad idea based on what happened with GRR), and the schedules being bad, which means you are stuck pretty much full time in that city.

Thanks much for the quick responses. Have the recent airbus deliveries been for growth or simply 80 replacements? I'm in the small group that would actually love to fly the 80.

Growth. As long as oil stays cheap 80s are staying on property. We are still retiring some but not the rate expected a couple years ago. Plan is to add 12 Airbus a year.

LAS is becoming more junior, the last FO transferred to LAS hasn't even finished training yet and new hires are getting it too.

It went very junior in my class and even had spots left for the next class.

How junior is IWA these days? Is it something attainable within a year.

Are any pairings posted anywhere? Are folks able to stay on the same sleep cycle?

I'm not going to lie, I struggle getting up at 03:45 one day and then getting to bed at 01:30 the next "night."

No, it all depends on the month and how those senior to you bid. There is no protection and many pilots see excessive AM to PM transitions.
