Can a new hire get LAS MD-80 out of training these days?

This may be true, but save for maybe 2 guys the rest deserved to be fired and had no business working here.

Call it BS until you or someone you know is in that situation.
If your intimidated for telling a duty pilot you will not extend because you are fatigued I hope your not a captain here. And yes I have refused extensions and got paid for them. Me, personally, I just tell them I'm fatigued and then either go to the hotel or drive home. It is BS that are crew schedulers might want you to talk to a duty pilot but I just tell them go ahead, connect me to them so I can tell them I'm fatigued (It's always ended there). No one here in management will tell you to go if you drop the "F" bomb. And for all of you that say they will, report them to the FAA if it happens and it will be their last time doing it.

Judge, jury and executioner. Guilty until proven innocent. If something bad happened you must have brought this upon yourself. That is the Allegiant Air way, if you’re a pilot. So, whatever happened to the head of maintenance after that cotter pin was left uninstalled on flight #436 LAS/PIA on August 17, 2015, and subsequent falsification of maintenance records? Did heads roll? FAA, Maury, Mav, bueller bueller...

That place is in serious need of a management overhaul or takeover.

He was actually a pretty good guy, until he became chief pilot. I guess all that power (and money) went to his head.

Surely Shrek can't be making that much.

The rumor is, he makes $250k+, but those that know won't confirm.

Wow! $250k/year for the system chief pilot?! Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm positive that's what narrow body line pilots are making at legacies and southwest. (Some places, north of $250k) This place is a joke, but I guess you get what you pay for....including a system chief pilot at a bargain price.
