Seniority list from December shows just over 650.

I know we hired some since then but right off the top of my head we lost three in the top 50 that still show up on that list. If that is the case I'm certain there are many more junior people that have left too.

The Feb 22 class had us at 703. This obviously doesn't account for attrition since then.

FlightTracker and FlightAware websites say it was an A320. (looks like maybe an MD-83 was used as the rescue plane to get the passengers on their way).

1000 pilots by the end of the year makes logical sense. Hiring 30 every 3 weeks will add about 420 more heads. Subtract 7 per month for attrition. That puts the list over 1000 by 12/31/16.

Default Phone interview

Would anyone in my position consider hoping over to Allegiant or any other LCC?
3) I have some family in PHX so I was wondering if anyone gets IWA as a new hire? If I got east coast, is the transfer process pretty easy and would I be able to get IWA relatively soon? Is BLI very senior?
4) With all of the negative media Allegiant seems to get about unsafe conditions, and rude passengers and staff, what's your real world opinion of this media from the side of being an Allegiant employee? Is the fleet just dumping bolts and rivets down every runway they operate on?
I sent you a PM...

You can be assured that we will not be over 1000 pilots by year's end. The training chokepoints that are systemic added to the attrition in that same department as well as the current pilot list (even the Director of Tng is leaving for the line, can we get a hallelujah) will not permit it. It would be great to see us be properly staffed in the next 6-9 months but the continued lack of serious progress in the contract talks make staying here seem more and more unlikely for the long haul. This could be the best overall job in the industry, but they'd rather play games and shuffle people around like pawns.

Everything you read in the paper is a complete lie. Even the MD80 that almost crashed on the take off role because the elevator wasn't installed properly. That's a lie too.

all its aircraft “were found to be in working order.”

“Any failure to properly secure any part of a flight control is a major problem,” said Goglia, the ex-NTSB member who is also a former aircraft mechanic. “More than one occurrence clearly indicates a maintenance organization that is not functioning properly.”

There are plenty of A320 sims around America with qualified instructors who could teach new hires with a few days of basic training. Send them back to Vegas for a warm-up sim and a checkride. Happens all the time at the regionals. Compass even had POIs from other FSDOs doing fed rides to keep things moving along.
For whatever reason mgmt has decided it isn't economically required and it's better to let people linger at home for a month here and there... But that doesn't mean things can't change when needed.
