Thanks for the candid reply Rok. I've been able to get through this thread and it is exactly as you describe. And you're absolutely right. I'm looking at Allegiant as a stepping stone to something better but just may decide that the headache and loss of QOL just may not be worth the bigger paycheck. I'll keep reading on and taking any and all viewpoints. Thanks again.

Are you saying you bid only aircraft in week 1 but not domicile? Or are you saying you don't find out what you get during week 1? I would think if all the vacancies were published during week 1 maybe the new hire group could put it all together themselves based on comparing notes?

In regards to newhire classes the thing to bear in mind is that whatever drops is what you get for the next two years due to a seatlock. No other company that I know of does that.
So if you came to Allegiant because you live in Florida but then you get assigned the 757 you will be commuting to HNL until LAS opens up. If this were United or American and you got assigned something you didn't want you could bid out quickly.

Hi,
I'm military with 2200 hours. I'm hoping to be an airline pilot based out of Las Vegas in about a year. I've heard from friends that Allegiant pilots are home every night? If that is true it'd be important to me bc I've spent a lot of time on the road or on crazy schedules flying in the Air Force.
I did a read through of this thread and it seems that some are and some are not, and that right now the new hires are being sent to Florida.
Any clarification on this? Also, do I have a chance at getting stationed in Las Vegas? From reading on here it seems like a pretty small chance.

The thing you need to understand about this place is everything is done manually. This frustrates us because everything is done last minute in a big rush and version 1.0 of the bid is usually followed by version 2.0 and 3.0. The same holds true for bidding your schedule, I can't tell you how many times an email comes out saying something was wrong and you need to rebid and adjust your schedule.
The reason they don't tell you what your class will be before showing up is because they don't know.

Yes, you will be TDY'd in FL for awhile, like it or not. Eventually, you'll make your way out to Vegas on RSV (on call) with 10 days off per month. Vegas is a bit more senior. You also NEED to get the MD-80 (likely) or 757 (highly unlikely), as the AB is NOT based in LAS.
Good Luck and thanks for your service.

I'd do SWA or Spirit, I think LAS is junior for both airlines and the treatment there is much better.
