Listen here the plans here are probably as good or better than any regional I have worked at. I have a high deductible hsa plan with a 1300 deductible that is 80 bucks a month or so. Of course it's just for me since my wife has her own plan with her job. I contribute 100 bucks per paycheck to the HSA and company gives you 600 a year. If you do a health screening they give you an additional 200 a year towards your HSA. This is all on individual coverage, not sure how it works for family coverage. There is also a cheaper HDHSA plan with a higher deductible that is cheaper and a PPO option as well. Not bad plans and I think we will negotiate a better plan once we get our contract.

Thanks skyrider, I have a phone interview coming up and my wife is pregnant with our third child. Your info is very helpful and greatly appreciated.

They just added a PPO option this open enrollment. It's about $350/month for a family and I can't remember the deductible but it's much better than the previous plans. It's through Aetna.

Maybe you've been out of the loop as to what's happening in our industry lately, but 6 years from today over 18,000 current pilots will retire from the major airlines. That's more than currently work at all the regional airlines combined. Allegiant won't be able to staff itself. Pilots will elect to go play for the major leagues, not AAA.

The majority of pilots would stay if pay and benefits were on par (Alaska rates are a good start) and I doubt there would be much problem recruiting if profits stayed the way they are now. Not everyone wants to do 4 day trips out of ORD.

Oh I don't disagree, but you can't wish these things into existence, all you have is what is currently true. Obviously the chess game Allegiant is playing in multiple areas is a short term gain. There are so many factors working against you that your long term survival is in doubt.

We have the same plan here with a $6k max out of pocket.

"Allegiant Air said in a statement that the leadership change will allow the airline to refocus on operational needs."

Refocus on operational needs by canning the operations guy and replacing him with a finance guy. Nothing to see here folks, move along

Exactly. If someone can explain how concentrating the power (and resulting wealth) in the hands of two guys will enhance safety, I'm all ears.
