Many people are telling me to stay at Brand X for PIC time. I've already done the video interview with Allegiant. Worst case scenario is I'm offered a job and have to choose between that and PIC. Moving to Allegiant scares me 1) idk how long upgrade time is and 2) stability for 25+ years. I don't see this as a time in the industry where an airline will go away, but, for example, if Allegiant's day trip structure went away, growth stopped, or a base closed after I bought a house, I'll be kicking myself for leaving PIC time. Advice much appreciated ladies and gentlemen.
I don't think upgrade will be more than a few years in just about any base except for the real senior ones. As far as stability, we are very profitable and plan to grow a lot. When everyone else was furloughing and losing money a few years ago... Allegiant was still turning a profit. I don't think the day trips will ever completely go away.

Drive to PHX and hop on SWA. Probably going to be the easiest way to do it... If you're not going to jump back and forth too much, the drive isn't horrible.

Didn't we TDY MD80 drivers out of IWA? Why are we VBDing in?

Airbus vbd through May. VBD till the bus is in vegas. Any way to get around paying for parking at PHX?

I live in PHX and am based in LAX. Sky Harbor Airport Parking (an offsite prepaid lot) comes out to about $59/month, but you have to prepay for 3 months before it goes month to month. The Parking Spot 2 has a crew rate of $5.35/ day. Everything just went up because the airport decided to jack up the access charge to the offsite parking lot shuttles.

I've heard the VBD upgrade time is pretty quick as well. That's fine. It's hard for me to think about walking away from PIC time if the airline doesn't plan to be around for a while. But you're right, very profitable. Planning to have nearly 100 bus but have about 50 now. That sounds good to me.

To the other guy, I'm not at ASA. AT A WO of AA.

Researched quite a bit. Lot of good info in previous posts on the topics below but still looking for more details on a few subjects.

1. Could someone comment on the CVG domicile? Is it AB or MD or both? Also, how long could a new-hire expect to wait before being able to hold it?

2. Vacation at G4. Could you describe the bidding process and how it affects your schedule in a vacation month(virtual credit, trip touch, etc...)?

3. Is VPS a base? I've seen announcements saying so, but no hard info on APC. If yes, what ac is/are based there?

4. Can virtual basing be awarded to new hires or does it go more senior?

CVG is airbus only. Seems relatively junior. If not awarded during training likely very soon after.

We get x amount of weeks of vacation depending on longevity. You must take vacation, if you do not bid it, it is assigned. Vacation must be taken a week at a time at a minimum. ie some people take a week here and there, others take weeks back to back if they can hold it.

VPS is a seasonal base, not a permenant base. It could become permanent in the future though if it does well enough. It is staffed with virtual base (VBD) pilots currently.

VBD is a mix! Lots of senior people, lots of junior people.
