Can anyone tell us what the hire date is for the most junior FO to hold a VBD line, please?

On the Bus it is 09/2016
On the MD80 it is 01/2017

The Bus VBD list is getting shorter for now, so I wouldn't expect to hold it anytime soon.

Harder to get hired at Allegiant than Delta? Ok. Tell that to all of the pilots with apps in at Delta.

The difference is nobody gets called at Delta unless you hit the sweet spot of their demographics algorithm and most pilots never get an interview.

At Allegiant, you get a video interview and they shoot you down for inexplicable reasons, or you get a TBNT without even that. Kinda different actually. You know, actually getting told no vs. crickets. It's safe to say AAY rejects a lot more pilots per capita than DAL. From what my recruiter friends say, like 80% of applications within the last 6 months.

Do you mean 80% of people that make it to the in person interview at Allegiant? I'm having a hard time tracking your statement. I think if you want an apple to apples comparison you should look at how many are successful at each company during the interview at HQ.

Delta does "shoot down" quite a few interviewees at the interview. It is my understanding that at Allegiant if you make it to Las Vegas the job is yours to lose.

That being said, Delta is currently hiring more pilots per year than Allegiant currently has on the list. At the end of the day, networking is everything. I know some who were hired recently at Allegiant who got to skip the video/phone interview completely after a successful meet and greet at a job fair.

I'm not really interested in debating you.

Isn't that true for every interview, anywhere? Once you get the call, you've checked all the boxes required except the personality and skills assessment. If you show up and meet those boxes, you're generally hired. If you don't, you're not... right??

What makes an in person at Allegiant less important to the process than the in person at Delta?

Nothing actually, if you want the job.

The previous poster had indicated it was harder to get hired at Allegiant and he didn't clarify if he was taking about those who failed the video/phone interview or the in person. Since there is a significant difference in the number of failures at the video interview and in person stages I was not able to fully understand his statement.

I'm thinking about going to the MSP meet and greet in a few weeks and wanted to know if business casual would be appropriate.
