No GRR base, that ship sailed long ago.

In the near future, I doubt it. Long term, I wouldn't rule it out. The company seems to be moving towards a "Colgan" model for basing. As the main bases get to capacity on how many airplanes they can park overnight, these outstations look more attractive. I wouldn't count on more than 1 airplane if it does open.

Curious, what's a "Colgan" model for basing?

Small bases in small cities?

I don't see GRR coming back as a base. It didn't work out.

Any place they had to overnight an airplane they made a base so they wouldn't have to pay for hotels.

No one knows what base is next, our management told us KIND was more than likely our next base in a town hall meeting earlier this year and this people on this forum said nope it is not? So no one really knows including our management!

No one on here knows for sure (most likely). However, when I was in Vegas a couple weeks ago, strong rumor was that the MDs would be gone before next summer in LAS (less strong rumor that it will be by EOY or very early next year).

First, we have to acquire Sun Country.

Then, trade Sun Country's 737's to Alaska Airlines who doesn't want recently acquired Virgin America's Airbus'.

“We wanted to make sure … mostly in the area of maintenance, that we had a much better grasp on what we were doing.”

Did he actually say that?? At the risk of being accused of leaking internal memos, and kudos for honesty, but this public statement from our president doesn't exactly inspire confidence. 15 years and now we're trying to get a better grasp on what we are doing??
