As others have said, IWA is one of our most senior bases. Lots of pilots waiting to get in there, and hanging out in LAX and on VBD. AB starting to move into LAS but very senior for now. 80 is junior there but no guarantees on equipment for new hires.
Commuting to LAS by air wouldn't be too hard, with lots of flights between PHX and LAS. About a 40 min flight. AAY flies IWA-LAS several times a week too. I have driven that trip many times and Its no picnic! And it's more like 5 hours. Commuting PHX-LAX is a nightmare. Lots and lots of competition!
The flying in IWA is pretty good. Some long flights but also some short runs. Good weather most of the year. Reserves don't get used most of the year. Summer gets bad though. This base has little movement since so many people actually live there, so when you finally get it, expect to sit reserve quite a while. An announcement came out a couple of months ago that IWA is going to see growth. Most of the crews are very cool and laid back. It's a good base overall if you must live in Phoenix.

Everybody blasts commuting at this job. It does take a great job and turn it into somewhere between an average job and a really sucky job. You have to look at which commute you are looking at. PHX to LAX or LAS is about as easy a commute as you will have. Going the other way, however sucks because we are not at PHX, we are at IWA. Commuting to many of the FL bases are even worse because of the satellite airport issue.
I have been commuting PHX to LAX since February. However, Allegiant allows you to pick up Open Time out of base, so I do a large percentage of my flying out of IWA even without being based here. Send me a PM if you want more info.
To me, the 18-24 months it will take me to get to IWA is worth it to get to home every night after that.

There are plenty of examples between all the threads here but you're in front of the people that will approve/deny you so conduct yourself accordingly. Your interview starts at first contact.

Hey guys I was hoping someone could help me out with OBAP. I will be attending this year with hopes of getting a position here at Allegiant. I have never been to a job fair and have no clue what to expect. I know this year it states you will get priority based on when you bought your ticket, but it doesn't give you any idea from there. Of course I'm probably missing something. I will be able to attend the 10th and 11th only. If anyone can give me any information on what to expect that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Did you sign up for the actual career fair early, like a few months ago? I signed up for a random event thinking I could get access, and I was incorrect. Got a refund. The career fair registration filled up a while ago.

Nice! I get the feeling, down the road, this place might have a ton of bases all over the country (in our very strong markets) and not necessarily have almost all of our planes in our leisure destinations.

This is correct, although it will only happen in markets that have a decent economy and low competition, that way they can also market flights like CVG-EWR.
