There was a list out there with dates and class size. I can't find it but I believe there was a class date in Sept or Oct that showed 0. I think they need to take a brief pause in hiring while they deal with 350 displacements off of the md-80.

To be fair, I think AA wants to still hire 910 but the training department has told them it won't be possible with the S80 displacements requiring training 350 pilots into something else. If the actual narrowbody training load is smaller than predicted due to S80 guys just retiring or bidding for widebody aircraft, I think they will hire as many pilots as can realistically be trained.

Just from observation it appears there MAY be some slowing going on. Envoy has yet to select anyone for the month of April for flow. Selections at Envoy for each month prior to April of this year have happened anywhere from the 12th-17th of each month. Nothing yet and no company email indicating selection within the next few days.

It appears there MAY be some sort of slow down. Envoy has yet to make any selections for the flow-thrus for the month of April. For the current year, all selections in previous months have been made anywhere from the 12th -17th of each month. There also has been no company communication indicating a selection is upcoming. We shall see.

Envoy typically selects ~35 pilots per month but only flows 29. Over time the "pool" of selected but not flowed pilots slowly grows. After tomorrows class that pool will be 69 pilots which is roughly enough to last through the end of June. If they run a selection this week the time from selection to flow will be over 3 months. They may not run a selection this month just to bring that time back down to the ~2 months it usually is.
