Did AA actually have real cancellation pay and work rules before BK?

Because look who negotiated this POS.

Beyond the contract, there is plenty of evidence of APA screwing its members. "Move the metal" and the more recent email encouraging us to be cool with electronic notifications during the storm (which the company can instantly get declared status quo if they like.). These things keep the membership confused and totally subvert any type of unity.

APA is a mess. They never take anything to arbitration-and why not? Because the contract is such crap. Totally full of loopholes. And that stuff got in there totally on purpose. Can't blame BK for language like "Scheduling's discretion " and "reasonably" or "may." This words never appear in any real contracts. Any first year law student would know better. And to think that some people still believe those are mistakes.

Give me a ballot to de certify. I would. I'd rather keep my dues. A union which stands up for nothing and actively works against some members is worse than none at all.

This is why I fear for our next contract. The morons who voted this turd in will still be here.

IDK.

A lot will be gone. We probably won't see a vote on a new one until at least '23

Retro is the standard. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to deal early before another 700-973 old guys per year are replaced by people who read the forums/BTL/whatever and are informed, and care about LIFESTYLE.

This is the biggest threat.

I agree. Plus DAL will be up for a new contract because their pilot group was smart enough to vote in a short contract instead of a 6 year POS. Parker will want the ink to dry on ours before he has to pattern bargain against Delta again.

Yep. I bet we get a take it or leave in 19 when we are eligible to open early. I expect DL/UA +3-5% pay rates, minor PS fixes and a couple small QOL items just so they can get the BOD to send it out and try and get 51%.

I'd imagine this will be before UA and DL get their new contracts.

Do this group have the stomach to vote down a TA? I hope so.

Nope. The top half of the seniority list is the "me generation" of ladder-pullers. They will vote whatever is best for them and we'll get screwed for another 6 years.

This is very true, unfortunately.

There are some really great guys in that demographic, but at least 80% are miserable self-centered turds. They will throw everyone else under the bus in about 1/2 a millisecond. And they will do it with a big fat smile. Because "my career sucked". None of us have had the career we expected.

Let them retire, and we might have something. The younger folks definitely don't think that way. I will never come off stuff like scope or work rules, no matter what.
