Bankruptcy

Did any of you actually listen to him at the JP Morgan Industrials Conference? Go all the way through to the Q&A.
If not here you go: https://americanairlines.gcs-web.com...als-conference
Make up your own minds all you airline profitability experts.

The whole JP Morgan presentation thing is little more than a show and tell/or event for each presenter. Look at what Spirit presented:
https://s24.q4cdn.com/507316502/file...tion-FINAL.pdf
You watch that and it tells you NK is going to drive the legacies out of business - domestically anyway - with, of course, the same sorts of disclaimers on the first slide.
These presentations are a COMMERCIAL, an attempt to get stock value and credit rating up. You put all the lipstick on your own particular pig you can until it’s so top heavy it staggers.
Don’t confuse them with an actual SEC filing and for damn sure don’t confuse it with reality.

The problem with using that for analysis is that the preface for each presentation is a huge disclaimer that reads that it’s all guesswork and none of it guaranteed to be accurate. More legal mumble-jumble explaining how there are no guarantees than you’ve ever seen:

Honestly, all of you know nothing. Including me. Carry on, take a xanax.

I might be an idiot but you are exhausting. If you don't like the company just leave, you can still do that in America. Do HVAC or something. Pays great, stable income and no more airline speculation keeping you up at night.
Honestly, all of you know nothing. Including me. Carry on, take a xanax.

And if you find my postings ‘exhausting’ then by all means block me. Nobody is forcing you to read them, least of all me.

Who called you an idiot? All I did was point out the legal disclaimers each company puts in their presentations that say they can’t be held to the accuracy of these forward looking statements. The whole purpose of these presentations is to have JP Morgan look at your company in the most favorable terms possible.
And if you find my postings ‘exhausting’ then by all means block me. Nobody is forcing you to read them, least of all me.

I was calling myself an idiot. I clearly am since I continue to read this thread trying to figure out if first, you work here, and second if you do why you are insistent on your companies inevitable failure. I just don't get it. You have great insight but you only see the bad in this whole story as if we are worse off than anyone else. For every legitimate negative AA has there are greater positives you still can't or won't recognize.
But seriously, if my postings annoy or depress you, block me. I won’t mind. I likely won’t even know.
Or, you could take that Xanax I guess...

The thread wasn’t started by me but the subject is bankruptcy. It isn’t about the positives and negatives of AA, it’s about the issues relative to the possibility of bankruptcy. I’m not ADVOCATING AA bankruptcy or trying to dance on anyone’s grave, just pointing out issues I see in the discussion. I’m HOPING for a prompt return of business and international flying but so far those hopes appear to be going unrealized.
But seriously, if my postings annoy or depresses you, block me. I won’t mind. I likely won’t even know.

Nah, Ill remain the bright light of positivity on this thread for the foreseeable future. Its obvious now you aren't employed here and have no vested interest in the company's success. As long as people can see that, I am satisfied.
-and don't steal my Xanax joke.

Excargodog flies for Spirit.
I generally enjoy reading his thoughtful postings, but agree that he appears to revel in making the case over and over again that AA is in dire straits. He seems to like analysis and discussion though, as evidenced by his presence on the COVID forum, so I don't see his postings as wishing for AA's demise, rather just discussion.

Yeah, he's definitely got some axe to grind. Not super unusual for this site though - lots of guys on APC love to put others down to feel better about their situation. He's just one of the more prolific ones.

I’m not attempting to put anyone down, but when somebody says debt is not a problem because few of the bond issuances mature any time soon - either forgetting or being unaware of debt service interest expense that will probably hit $2 Billion this year - I don’t think it’s somehow out of line to correct them. And while I’m no less opinionated than anyone else, I try to balance that with facts and figures to back up that opinion.
And everybody has an opinion. Heck, Warren Buffet basically wrote off the whole damn industry a year ago. And none of US are in control of what happens in any event, the government, the fates, and our managements are, we are pax along for the ride.
So I’m sorry if any of my opinions upset anyone and feel free to just block me if you find them frightening or annoying - I mean that sincerely, I don’t post with the purpose of annoying anyone - but the facts (and opinions) are what they are and until flying picks up enough and hiring picks up enough that I’m not sitting reserve I’ve got a lot of time on my hands and APC is as good a distraction as any...

I enjoy reading some of your posts, but what is being referred to is your dozens of AA doom and gloom posts. Not once or twice, or a handful of times, but dozens upon dozens in dozens of different threads. I wish that were an exaggeration on my part. The constant attitude (and flat out saying it) of stay clear of AA to those looking to move up to mainline, as if it were that easy to get on with a different legacy, or even LCC. What does that say about your motivations?
One thing I haven't seen from you, however, is even more important. Is the Miata a sports car? Wait, this isn't a Delta thread, disregard.
