When we had the E-190 (group 1) we had to force CA upgrades on it because group 2 FO is a better deal for most then group 1 CA. That tells me the group 1 rate is too low.

The important thing is to get them on property. First one that does (DAL, UAL, or AA) breaks the damn for everyone else, and then pattern bargaining starts anew, with carriers again having to compete for those "Regional" pilots, but this time they're on a mainline list.

that and there’s only so much shuttle flying with BOS and LGA layovers that one can tolerate.

Only 29 new hires starting on 11/3, we already can’t fill classes consistently at 45 there’s no way we get to 2,000 next year.

My guess is because OTS interviews only just started. Lots of people not able to take such short notice to start class. I can almost guarantee Nov 17 class will be full. Interviews are in full swing now.
