A staple doesn't work. Somebody will sue. Fed's may not even approve it. There hasn't been a straight staple in decades of SLI's. So, lets be realistic instead of thumping chests.
You make the E195/A220 the Gap jet with a fence around it. It becomes the new Group 2. The RJ's become the new group 1. All other existing groups move up one number.
Group 1 fenced from displacing any Group 3 and up.
Group 3 and up fenced from displacing Group 1
Group 2 bids actual DOH.
Fencing protection only for pilots on seniority list at DOS
Once everybody is retired it becomes one lift with no fences.

I agree. This wouldn’t work. A straight staple..
You don’t need fences.

After the staple, if you were a military guy or an experienced regional pilot, why come to AA to fly an RJ for 5 more years and then when you finally do move up to a 737, you sit reserve for the next 15 years?

Straight staple wouldn't work. A straight staple would essentially put an end to new hires at AA, when we really need to hire 2000+. No one would come here if they had an option if, all of a sudden, there were 5000 pilots added to the list.

Yup. It’s going to be an interesting few years.

a staple will never work. It won’t get agreed to & it won’t pass legal review. Stubbornly demanding what can never happen is exactly how the USAir pilots ****ed away a few billion over many years of fighting list integration.

sounds like the old USAPA war cry. The pilots lost billions fighting over the SLI.

AA has lots of pilots under 30 years old. So… 35+ year fences?

Except then you won’t have enough CAs to keep the regional operating. A couple are already hiring Street captains…

Now if the AAG model will work without regional feed, that’s no big hairy deal.
but will it?
