I have a problem with this because I drop as much as I can of my regular awarded PBS line then “pickup” premium or easy a** broken up trips. I end up working less days then I was scheduled and for more pay…so in your opinion this is bad? I am causing the company to have to cover more flying and at a higher cost than if I had just flown my regular line. So how is that helping the company? And I am hardly the only one doing this….

As most pilots have an issue with what they are doing. I'm not saying you are wrong, but most pilots can see what the other is doing wrong and impeding a contract, but not themselves.

I've hear so much BS about my small group(CKA) all I can do is laugh.

I’m all ears and always willing to learn. What have you heard that is BS? FWIW I think the whole “just wanna be a check airman for the name tag” is ridiculous and APC is the only place I’ve heard someone say that.

Until recently many pilots thought CKA were management. Then it was discovered that for many CKA the job just wasn't worth the name tag, and bam! Leverage was perceived. "The Line" also promotes the name tag myth.

Pilots are pilots. They are always willing to justify their actions, while criticizing others. How many are saying that folks shouldn't be taking CKA jobs while they are gobbling up premium trips? Many are hoping that the CKA issues will save the day without them having to do anything. It's not new, I've been watching it for decades.

What you discuss is a job action that no union can support without Judicial repercussions. This isn't debate, its the law. APA/ALPA/SWAPA etc. are nothing but a shell of themselves and are dinosaur remnants. You pay something for nothing.

But you did say a human nature problem and to that I agree. Outsiders would call it "supply and demand". However, the Federal government has given employees an order: COVID. You've been exposed (based on your word), you have ANY systems (things that look like cold/flu) call in sick. STAY SAFE!!!

You are following Federal guidelines and not engaging in a job action.

Mostly through a merger like what happened here at AAA/USAIR/AWA. However, being a CKA was, in the older days, a way for junior "worthy" pilots to become a CKA and cherry pick trips for training with senior pay. However, a lot has changed since those days hence the shortage. Just spoke with senior (to me) MIA Captain hired after I was, he pulled in $140,000 in November. He told me and I'm taking his word for it. APA superiority at its finest.

Meant symptoms, not system.....spell check.

DISCLAIMER: I'm NOT advocating to use this forum as a means of job action. But I'm simply saying the Federal guidelines actually leave you little room to go to work but be absolved of liability if you quite possibly could get others sick.
