It's a good deal for their LCAs and lifers but doubt it really curbs attrition. LCCs etc still pay better.
The arrogance on this one. Yes 401k, lacking. Work rules, lol not so much. Envoy work rules blow mainline AA out of the water.

The work rules at both Envoy and PSA are waaaaayyyy better than what AA pilots have.

Yes I am sure. I was just speaking from what I am familiar with. I don't know PSA work rules. But I am very familiar with both Envoy and AA work rules and contracts. Mind blowing to me the delusion APA and the majority of the pilot group at AA are living in. Shocking to see some of these posts. Actually had to create an account bc my jaw was on the floor.

Yet every person I've flown with from *any* regional has said that being at AA is night and day better. I'm sure there are plenty of work rules that favor Envoy and PSA, but let's not pretend that pay is the only difference either.

I think they are saying being at work is way better, not the rules governing how often they have to go to work.

It’s possible to be forced to go into the office less at a job you don’t like, and possible to be forced to go into the office more at a job you like way better.

You like it way more, but are forced to be there more often.

I worked 12 days a month at a regional, I will have to work 16 a month at a major. I like being at work more at a major, but do not like going to work more.

The goal for me is only 12 days a month at the major, for 66 hours, but they don’t have the work rules to allow it like the regional.

That could be - I'm just relaying what I've heard from the guys I fly with.

Yeah, that is individuale opinion based on those people. But if we are being honest, pay really isn't different anymore, not including retirement. They are actually making alot more if you are taking into account they are flying 76 people for every hour you are flying 176 or so. That being said I do agree, you are treated more professional at AA in context of conversation among peers. All things considered, if you flew with me, I would not be one of those that told you it is night and day better at AA. I would have told you the one thing that is better is the pay. Now, I would not even tell you that.

The temporary pay rates are likely set to expire right before AA Management offers an AIP to APA in fall 2024 so they can’t be used as a benchmark to support higher rates at mainline
