Yeah, that is individuale opinion based on those people. But if we are being honest, pay really isn't different anymore, not including retirement. They are actually making alot more if you are taking into account they are flying 76 people for every hour you are flying 176 or so. That being said I do agree, you are treated more professional at AA in context of conversation among peers. All things considered, if you flew with me, I would not be one of those that told you it is night and day better at AA. I would have told you the one thing that is better is the pay. Now, I would not even tell you that. All things considered, choosing to be at a major airline over a regional regardless of short term work rule inequalities or pay, the major is the better choice for career potential. So I'm sure the point of the guys you fly with, is that being at AA is the better choice regardless of current down falls. That I do agree with.

You can absolutely drop to zero at AA. Obviously depends on the airframe, seat, domicile, and relative seniority.

huh? I’ve dropped 95%+ of my schedule in 2022. Dropped every trip in January, February, March, April, and June. Flew a few straight pay turns and 1-1s in May.

Is the contract language there to force it, or it’s coincidental or luck to get drops? I was talking in terms of what the contract forces upon the company to the betterment of the workers.
The contract language can be written inferior and you still have good opportunity you like.

If they were unhappy they would be doing the minimum because they are unhappy, it’s basic human nature, not some sort of work action.
The seniority movement is keeping everyone happy which inhibits contract progress.

It's beginning to look like it was better to stay at the regional. At least I couldn't just be extended into days off, reassigned whenever etc. I'm headed into an involuntary day 5 tomorrow. Ironically, with the cancels it gets me home sooner than it would be now with my (previous) dh home cancelling tonight. 2nd reassignment this trip. Last trip 5 ra and one ro.

Now I think that path is much less clear than it was just a short time ago. But to sort of sum all this up… APA told the WO MECs they weren’t supportive of working with them on seniority numbers. A permanent solution with long term benefits for all. And then this happens. And now you’re dealing with 3 separate properties who are all much less incentivized to go down the seniority numbers path now. APA has been almost sickeningly short-sighted in all of this.
Im about 3 years on property and wouldn’t hesitate to leave if offered a job at AA or any legacy, brown/purple or SWA.

They're granting those kinds of raises for the sole purpose of preserving both their hub n' spoke business model, and the FFD outsourcing that makes it lucrative. The whole point is to AVOID bringing it in house... that's not up to the union.
The company (not any union) could have brought it in house at the drop of a hat any time they wanted to. They don't.
