Quickest way to get to AA from a WO is to leave and go anywhere else. Unfortunate, but the numbers continue to prove this is the case

Yep, with some bid statuses the only way to gain seniority is through vacancy bids. They never see the class drops.

Why is that hard to believe? There are no PHX/CLT/ORD drops either.

The last 2 TDY bids have had 30+ FOs going from LGA to DFW

It’s not quite that simple. We only do quarterly vacancies, so it depends on your timing.

we have a minimum of 3 per year, usually actually have 4. September bid with January/feb/mar effective dates is a good bet. They have the ability to withhold you though.

Yes.

You wouldn't be able to do trips that are "international" until you get scheduled to go back for the international ground school and getting the qual by doing a flight with a CKP.

I’ve heard that all new hires are getting int ground school these days but that may no longer be true. Hide from the CKA either way haha

What are odds of me getting PHL? 28 Years old... I am expecting to be near the bottom of seniority based on everyone I had the pleasure of interviewing with in May.

In my recent class we had 5 PHL. The first three went super senior, the last two not so much. But seeing as there is no MIA 320 then I'd have to say about 100% chance you get LGA if you want the 320. Keep in mind, it's highly likely you'll be able to bid out of LGA by the end of training or shortly thereafter so if you want the 320 take LGA and bid out ASAP.

Does DFW ever pop up as a base option for hew hires in training or do you have to wait a bit.

if you bid out before you are out of training does that mean you never actually fly out of there of do you still have to do some time?

Vacancy training dates are 4, 5, & 6 months later, so you'll definitely do some time if you get it in the first vacancy. If you do a mutual base exchange, you might not. I got LGA on day 1, awarded a base swap with MBE a week later, and never commuted to LGA.

i got MIA in indoc but never flew out of there. Vacancy bid result to different base kicked in before OE (did have a 3 month break to training which may not be the case anymore).

Does indoc run through the holidays? For example, do training classes proceed normally through the period of Thanksgiving-New Years without interruption?

Last year think they took 3 or 4 weeks off in Nov & Dec

They have confirmed no new hire classes in December, and likely no class in November either.

There should be classes the first 3 weeks of November. Then off for Thanksgiving and December
