I'm willing to put $1000 in escrow against yours that when the UA contract is completed it will be better than AAs. Those pilots are much stronger than the cadre we have here at AA with you and the other yes men/mission hackers we got working here. They are holding out for what they truly deserve. You on the other-hand: "Thank you Mr. Isom may I have some more!"

You are a fool. Tell us again how “every section in the AIP is concessionary except pay”. Trying to settle a bet with someone like you who interprets things anyway he feels would be impossible. You’ll probably argue that field standby is a contract improvement.

United is going to have more sick time, more vacation credit, and higher pay. I'd say APA pilots will be losing out. APA pilots still can't even have the cockpit jumpseat weight protected. We get to keep IMAX, so we can stalk open time on the internet and pick up a bunch of straight time trips for a large portion of the year in the hopes they can get 2 months off paid.

APA pilots generally, gain time off by sacrificing time off the rest of the year. Meanwhile other unions are actually trying to negotiate quantifiable paid time off in terms of vacation and sick. I would rather have up-front measurable time off provisions vs the APA way of protecting IMAX at the expense of said measurable time off in vacation and sick.

We can speculate about what United might get, but it hasn't happened yet. If negotiations drag out until the end of summer and age 67 passes, I don't think the outlook of that contract looks very rosy. I hope it doesn't play out that way, but I wouldn't be surprised if that is the company's strategy at this point.

Since the jumpseat can be reserved eight days out, there is essentially zero stress, if awarded the seat, with trying to haggle with the commuter clause if the flight were to be weight restricted. Not a perfect solution, but it works in those rare circumstances.

I care about having my days off actually remaining days off. I wouldn't care about vacation technicalities if I was getting rolled on global reserve.

Do you consider the time off that vacation provides a technicality? Im not interested in 'technicalities' as you called it, that sacrifice my actual time off for increased pay.

It’s important. However, I view that as a relatively minor issue compared to work rules that impact daily life. Again, not that it should be overlooked, but it’s not as high on my list of priorities. Opinions may differ.
